At least we know who won't be taking a hit: public safety retirees (including retired prison guards). They will continue to get their fat pensions and great medical coverage, while the rest of us struggle to balance our own household budgets. Both the Democrats and the Republicans are missing in action when it comes to dealing with public employee retirement costs.

So Robin Hood you have a point but I have a question for you. How did you vote on Schwartzenager's ballot initiatives 73,74,76 and 77? If you were a dupe for the duplictious and evil unions and voted against, you are a part of the problem. Also, I have to say I abhor this type of journalism, but really is there any other kind? . Its fairly easy to make a sob story out of any chosen set of circumstances but it hardly shows a serious investigation of the policies and their intended and unintended cocnsequences. Lets face it, government programs are NEVER ending. Even these are only possible  reductions. Allow me a few questions: "home health work" at $12 an hour are relatives who often live with the person anyway and don't work. In this case it seems the young lady was being paid to sleep at her aunts home. Thats possibly $96 a night. The single mother was laid off and isn't collecting unemployment but disability?? Explanation, please. And the foster child, who got a job in the system...frankly I think he's better off moving on though Boston is an odd choice since its also a very expensive place to live.
