Save Our Kids Petitions Available!

The Save Our Kids Campaign to overturn SB 777 is excited to announce that our petitions are now available online.

Please visit www.SaveOurKids.net to download your petitions.

Make sure to download the instructions so that you accurately complete the petitions before returning them to the campaign.

Petitions can be downloaded and printed directly from the web site, but make sure you carefully follow instructions to ensure the petition you print and return is valid.

Only registered voters over 18 may sign the petitions. If you are not registered or have moved since registering, please visit the Secretary of State's web site and register to vote.

Last fall Governor Schwarzenegger signed Senate Bill 777, a highly controversial bill that will allow the promotion of homosexuality, transexuality, bisexuality and transgenders in public schools.

The new law will prohibit references to "mom and dad" because it would be discriminatory against homosexual couples. Boys would be allowed to run for prom queen if it "corresponds with their gender identity." Boys would also be allowed to enter female locker rooms and restrooms.

We now have until August 29th, 2008 to gather 435,000 signatures for our initiative. It is crucial that we join together and turn back this assault on our families and values. During the SB 777 referendum, we successfully gathered over 350,000 signatures in just 70 days. With double the time, and an enthusiastic volunteer base, we are confident we will qualify our initiative for the ballot.

Download your petition today and start gathering those signatures!

Transgender 3rd Grade Boys - Coming to ALL California Schools (CRI)

As word continues to spread about SB 777's outrageous sexual policies for public schools, citizens simply cannot believe the shocking situations these policies will produce. But sadly, these situations are not just hypothetical, they are real. The latest such story comes from Pennsylvania, where a 3rd grade boy will be coming to school as a girl.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, parents of the boy asked school officials to help them with a "social transition" at school. Incredibly, the Haverford School District not only agreed to this request, but then sent a letter to every parent informing them that a guidance counselor would meet with all of the school's 100 third-grader to "explain why their classmate would now wear girls' clothes and be called by a girl's name."

Parents were horrified to learn that school would authorize this type of warped "counseling" for students without parental input. "Why is the school introducing this subject to 8- and 9-year-olds?" wrote one parent on a local blog. "Why were we not notified sooner. (sic) We received the letter today, the discussion at school is tomorrow."

Unfortunately, as the result of SB 777, these types of transgender and confusing sexual stories will become commonplace in California's schools. As farfetched and extreme as it may sound, our children will soon be dealing with other sexually confused children in their classrooms.

But we can help protect the innocence of our children by repealing SB 777. This will ensure that parents have local control over these controversial issues-not out-of-touch politicians in Sacramento.

Take action today-while we still have the opportunity to stop the devastating policies of SB 777. Download Save Our Kids petitions and gather as many valid voter signatures as possible. All you have to do is describe the Pennsylvania story and that SB 777 will bring this situation to our local schools by state mandate. Download a Petition

REMINDER: This is a NEW petition. If you signed the referendum petition you must sign the new initiative petition.

As you know, we launched the Save Our Kids Initiative on April 7. We now have 100 days to collect the same 435,000 signatures to place SB 777 on the ballot to be overturned by voters.

The Save Our Kids referendum was the beachhead in our campaign to overturn anti-family laws forced on us by California lawmakers. We now have a strong foothold to continue this campaign and an incredible opportunity will help us claim even more ground.

California Supreme Court Forces Homosexual Marriage on California (CRI)

Activist Judges Defy Will of People and Overturn Proposition 22

In a 4-3 decision, the California Supreme Court ruled today that homosexual marriage bans are unconstitutional. California voters overwhelmingly approved Proposition 22 in 2000, defining marriage as between one man and one woman. California's highest court decided the law was unconstitutional.

"This is a very sad day for our nation and the democratic process," stated Karen England, executive director for Capitol Resource Institute. "The people of California decided eight years ago that marriage in our state will be defined as between one man and one woman. 4 arrogant, elitist, activist judges decided that they know better than the people how marriage should be defined."

"It is a blow to our government system that activist judges would use the judicial system and baseless constitutional arguments to push their radical political agenda on citizens," stated Meredith Turney, legislative liaison for Capitol Resource Institute.

Assemblyman Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) commented, "Eight years ago with the passage of Proposition 22, the voters of California agreed that marriage is 'between a man and a woman.' PERIOD. The court's decision today is further proof that some activist judges value their own beliefs over the will of the people."

"We now must focus our energy on passing the Protect Marriage Initiative and place traditional marriage in the state constitution," stated England. "This outrageous decision will electrify voters and we are certain they will once again choose to protect traditional marriage."

Nazi Homosex Hatemongers are not currently part of the Radical Homosex Thought Police plan for Co-Opting historical figures, at least not just yet - during the 'coy' phase of the takeover.

Later on, Gay Icons like the Boy Raping Ephebophile Nazi Founder Ernst Rohm and his Syphilitic Prostitute Protege Hitler can be 'reintroduced', after being gaily sanitized (like Ginsberg and Milk) by their coprophile fan clubs of course.

Of Brave New World of Dyketopia - With Such Wonders as These Turkey Basters to Behold... Ohso In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutoinary act. George Orwell >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Revisionist Homosexual History

Florence Nightingale, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington Carver, and Joan of Arc. What do all of these historic figures have in common? According to the homosexual agenda, they were all gay. For many years conservative and Christian leaders have been sounding the alarm about revisionists' campaign to rewrite history. These revisionists have distorted history to advance political and societal agendas for atheism, feminism, and finally homosexuality.

These revisionists understand that education, especially concerning history, is their most powerful tool in molding young minds to accept their agenda. When a child is told, from the tender age of 5 through their entire public school career, that homosexuality, bisexuality, transsexuality and other controversial lifestyles are normal and to be honored, they will accept this as truth.

That is why this battle over school curriculum is so crucial. We are fighting for the hearts and minds of a generation. The SB 777 referendum is the current battlefront in defending innocent children from indoctrination.

The homosexual rights group that sponsored this law, Equality California, finally admitted last week that SB 777 is in fact about curriculum-not just preventing discrimination against students. In their 2007 legislative scorecard the group declared that the bill "prohibits curriculum that is discriminatorily biased against LGBT people and other protected groups," including transsexuals, transgenders, and bisexuals. These activists are keenly aware that they need "inclusive" curriculum in order to start indoctrinating young minds.

According to the Safe Schools Coalition, a group formed to advance homosexual teachings in school, "inclusive" curriculum should feature historic figures that were considered gay, including the figures listed above. There is no evidence to suggest that these figures were in fact homosexuals, but when revising history, it's preferable to co-opt real historic figures for your cause.

With the passage of SB 777, we can now expect year-round homosexual instruction. The Safe Schools Coalition features 12-month lesson plans for teachers to use. For January, students can expect to learn about George Washington Carver's "letters documenting his same-sex relationships, although of course, given the era in which he lived, he was not particularly open about his sexual orientation." February is African-American History Month and features more instruction on Mr. Carver and other African-American gay figures.

March is Women's History Month and students will learn about "women-loving-women born this month" including Susan B. Anthony who is "believed by historians to have had three intimate relationships with women in her life." Teachers will also instruct students on the definitions of such terms as "lesbian," "transgender," "intersex," "questioning," and "two-spirit." Teachers are encouraged to "infuse LGBTIQ/2-spirit cultural awareness into the every day life" of their classroom. These types of detailed lesson plans exist for every month of the year, with special attention paid to June (GLBT Pride Month) and October (GLBT History Month).

As you can see, we face a well-organized and well-financed (with tax-payer dollars) agenda. The SB 777 referendum is about the people. Every day we receive letters, e-mails and phone calls of support from the thousands of people who understand just how critical this campaign is.

To help us protect the innocence of children we ask that you (1) send in your petitions as soon as possible... Together, we can preserve our values and save our kids.

The History of SB 777 (CRI)

Introduced February 23, 2007, Senate Bill 777 changed state education code to prohibit any school instruction or school-sponsored activity that will promotes a discriminatory bias against homosexual, bisexuals, transsexuals, and transgenders.

The bill was signed into law October 12, 2007 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. As implemented, this new law will demand equal time for controversial sexual lifestyles in classrooms. Children as young as 5 would be forced to learn about "mom and mom" or transgender youth.

Because of this outrageous assault on innocent children and traditional values, Save Our Kids filed a referendum to overturn SB 777 by "referring" it to the people and placing it on the ballot. We had less than 75 days to obtain 435,000 valid voter signatures. Unfortunately, we fell short of our deadline by obtaining 350,000 signatures.

Now that the referendum option has been exhausted, Save Our Kids has filed an initiative to overturn SB 777 by placing it on the ballot. We have 150 days to obtain the same number of signatures. I'm not defending Ohso, Ohso1 or Ohso's position, but you claimed in a recent post that you have far-right leanings. Isn't a strong defense of free speech apart of that policital thinking? I understand that someone doesn't have to agree with every aspect of a political thought to claim allegiance, but freedom of speech appears to a cornerstone of any Libertarian. If so, then let Ohso rant as he desires. Afterall, our government allows a wannabe terrorist to post pro-Al Qaeda propaganda on his website in the good ole USA. That must drive our friends on the left bonkers! If that happened in the UK, guess what would have happened to him?

Finally, isn't Ohso original post consistent with the ideal of limited government?

Ohso is only interested in conservative views that correspond to his own beliefs.
That is not conservatism.  Liberty means everyone gets to have their say. It does not mean, just because one's job is to spam everyone's thread, that their freedom is paramount to everyone elses.  It isn't Liberty if only one person is heard.

Osho doesn't want liberty, he wants a dictatorship where only his view is expressed. That should be evident by the sheer number of his postings, of which nearly 100% are bashing homosexuals.

Liberty doesn't mean drowning out all other voices.  It doesn't mean imposing ones religious views onto others via laws.

I don't mind him expressing his fallacy, I do mind him drowning out all other voices and spamming cut and paste crap from all over the internet to do so.

West Covina Unified School Board Opposes SB 777 (CRI)

With the passage of SB 777 last year, local schools must now contend with all sorts of sexually confusing situations. Under SB 777, it is illegal for schools to give instruction or sponsor activities that will "promote a discriminatory bias" against homosexuality, bisexuality, transsexuality or transgenderism.

This means female-only sports teams must now allow transgender boys to participate. And transgender boys must be granted access to female restrooms and locker rooms.

Thankfully, we have the opportunity to overturn SB 777 by passing the Save Our Kids initiative. We need strong support from citizens and our representatives in order to qualify the initiative and gain voter approval.

Last night the West Covina Unified School Board took a bold stand for families and our values by voting to pass a resolution supporting the Save Our Kids initiative. This is the first local school board to publicly protest SB 777 and its harmful policies.

Three brave members of the school board voted to support Save our Kids: Steve Cox, Mike Spence and Camie Poulos. However, two members refused to support the Save Our Kids resolution: George Fuller and Jessica Shewmaker.

Just before the vote on the resolution occurred, board member Fuller actually declared that anyone who opposes SB 777 and its sexual indoctrination is like Adolf Hitler. He asserted that there once was "a man who tried to rid the world of homosexuals; Hitler didn't survive."

Board member Spence demanded an immediate apology from Fuller for comparing citizens with traditional values to an evil dictator like Adolf Hitler. Fuller refused to apologize.

"We are extremely excited that the West Covina Unified School Board is supporting the protection of innocent children from sexual indoctrination," stated Karen England, campaign manager for the Save Our Kids initiative. "But our victory here also revealed just how bigoted and hateful some school board members are. Board member George Fuller should publicly apologize to the citizens of his district and all Californians for comparing us to Adolf Hitler. This is shameful behavior from an elected school board member and his constituents should be very concerned this man is making decisions about their children's education."

Dear Friends,

I sometimes despair at the horror stories coming through the wires : of traditional marriage, as well as parenthood, being hijacked by homosexuals; of the harassing and bullying of parents protesting their loss of rights re their children's educational development; of the growing influence of homosexuals in educational institutions, the media and entertainment industry; homosexuality rife in the priesthood, the police, among our politicians; the mutilation of our English language, supposedly to appease the sensitivities of homosexuals, etc.

It occurred to me that we are not getting very far in opposing this moral and political onslaught by traditional means of debate; that we could be far more effective - and therefore successful - by also pointing out some simple facts about the very real agenda, and the contrived propaganda methods, which are driving this whole Devilish phenomenon.

While I'm aware that some of you are very well informed on all of this, many of you may not be, so with this in mind I am attaching what I regard as two most valuable items which divulge the real homosexual agenda, as well as the awesome chicanery recommended for its implementation. They are :-

"The 1972 Gay Rights Platform" - Created at the National Coalition of Gay Organisations Convention held in Chicago in 1972 (3 pages) At the Federal level there are nine demands; at the State level there are eight demands. Under State, number seven is most telling : "Repeal of all laws governing the age of consent", yet they say they are not interested in sex with children! Immediately prior to that one, "Repeal of all state laws prohibiting transvestism and cross-dressing". which is becoming the latest battleground in some U.S. schools.....

"The Overhauling of Straight America", an article of 11 pages, written by Marshall K. Kirk and Erastes Pill (pen-name of Hunter Madsen, according to Wikipedia) which appeared in the now-defunct homosexual Guide Magazine of November 1987. Later expanded by Kirk and Madsen into the book After the Ball : How America will conquer its fear and hatred of Gays in the 90's. (Pub. Plume 1990)

I found a brief Overview of the above article on the net by www.catholicparents.org headed "The Truth about the Homosexual Campaign" which rather puts it in a nutshell. Some excerpts from it :-

"(The authors) stated 'In the early stages of any campaign to reach straight America, the massses should not be shocked and repelled by premature exposure to homosexual behaviour itself. Instead the imagery of sex should be downplayed and gay rights should be reduced to an abstract social question as much as possible. First let the camel get his nose inside the tent - only later his unsightly derriere!

The plan was - and still is - to present the controversy surrounding homosexuality as a civil rights issue that is to be promoted in the name of sexual freedom by legislated law, and taught to our young adults and children in school as a diversity issue.

Yes, homosexuality cast in the mumb-jumbo of sexual orientation, and the pleading for tolerance, where none is deserved, is being taught to our children. Thereby, the homosexual's (sic) plan is to have societal and legal acceptance of a proven compulsive and lethal addiction, the most bizarre and obscene sexual practices, as commonplace in the social fabric of the nation.

Kirk and Pill note 'In any campaign to win over the public, gays must be cast as victims in need of protection so that straights will be inclined by reflex to assume the role of protector.'

Kirk and Pill also recommend smearing their enemies, comparing them to the KKK and Nazis (and now Christians as Talibans). They write : 'To be blunt, they must be vilified. We intend to make the anti-gays look so nasty that average Americans will want to dissociate themselves from such types.'

This homosexual plan is designed to hide the facts about homosexual behaviour and to portray homosexuals as victims. This plan to villify their enemies has been wildly successful." (end of quote)

In conclusion, then, it seems to me that we have powerful ammunition here with which to fight this venomous social scourge in our midst. I am convinced that masses of currently well-meaning supporters of "gay rights" - to say nothing of public institutions and big-spending corporate supporters - would be shocked to discover that they were, in reality, no more than dupes - pawns in a vicious game - and would quickly re-think their situation.

I think it is high time we let the damning FACTS speak for themselves. As I always say, they are notoriously hard to argue against!

Barbara

Administering Hormone-Blocking Drugs to Seven-Year-Old Children Pushes Ethical Limits (Liberty Counsel):

Boston, MA – Dr. Norman Spack, a pediatric endocrinologist at the Boston Children's Hospital, has launched a clinic where he administers hormone-blocking drugs to children as young as seven years of age. Gender Identity Disorder (GID), which these children allegedly experience, is classified as a mental disorder. A GID diagnosis involves someone whose biology and physiology is indisputably male or female, but subjectively this person has a desire to be the opposite sex. Children that are diagnosed with GID later in life often abandon the desire to be the opposite sex.

Dr. Spack administers either luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) or medroxyprogesterone, which blocks estrogen or testosterone to delay the onset of puberty. The result would stop girls from developing their menstrual cycle, breasts, and other normal female characteristics, and it would stop boys from developing a deeper voice, facial hair, and other normal male characteristics. The dangers involved in children taking these drugs include permanent infertility, increased risk of breast cancer, and more confusion about who they are.

Shortly after stopping children from reaching puberty, cross-hormones are taken to simulate the puberty of the opposite sex. Estrogen is given to boys and testosterone is given to girls, physically transforming these children into the gender they want to be. The final step would involve removal of male or female organs and plastic surgery.

In 1966, Johns Hopkins University started performing the nation’s first "sex reassignment" surgery in its Gender Identity Clinic. In 1979 the university hospital stopped performing these surgeries when it was discovered that the patients' well-being did not improve and the procedures were destroying healthy organs. The hospital decided the best treatment was through psychology, focusing on healing the mind.

Mathew D. Staver, Founder of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law, commented: "Seven-year-old children are thinking about video games and riding their bicycles, not about artificially transitioning to the opposite gender. Since Gender Identity Disorder is purely subjective, it is dangerous and unethical to give drugs to children to block the onset of puberty. Gender Identity Disorder is a mental, not a physical disorder. We do not treat anorexia with liposuction and we should not treat gender confusion with plastic surgery."

'Sex indoctrination opponents are like Hitler' - Board member blasts critics of state's 'gay' promotions. http://www.worldnetdaily.com

A school board member in California says those who oppose the state's SB777, a law approved by last year's legislature and signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger that restricts public schools to teaching only positive perspectives of homosexuality, are "like Hitler."

The report comes from Karen England of Capitol Resource Family Impact, which is working on the Save Our Kids campaign to assemble enough petition signatures in the state to put SB777 on the 2008 election ballot.

"Last night the West Covina Unified School Board took a bold stand for families and our values by voting to pass a resolution supporting the Save Our Kids initiative," said England's report. "This is the first local school board to publicly protest SB777 and its harmful policies."

"Three brave members of the school board voted to support Save our Kids: Steve Cox, Mike Spence and Camie Poulos. However, two members refused to support the Save Our Kids resolution: George Fuller and Jessica Shewmaker," she said.

"Just before the vote on the resolution occurred, board member Fuller actually declared that anyone who opposes SB777 and its sexual indoctrination is like Adolf Hitler. He asserted that there once was 'a man who tried to rid the world of homosexuals; Hitler didn't survive,'" she reported.

"Board member Spence demanded an immediate apology from Fuller for comparing citizens with traditional values to an evil dictator like Adolf Hitler. Fuller refused to apologize," England said.

"We are extremely excited that the West Covina Unified School Board is supporting the protection of innocent children from sexual indoctrination," England said. "But our victory here also revealed just how bigoted and hateful some school board members are. Board member George Fuller should publicly apologize to the citizens of his district and all Californians for comparing us to Adolf Hitler. This is shameful behavior from an elected school board member and his constituents should be very concerned this man is making decisions about their children's education.

"We encourage every recipient of this email to contact West Covina Unified School Board members George Fuller and Jessica Shewmaker and ask why they did not support the Save Our Kids resolution," she said. "Also, contact George Fuller and ask him why he won't apologize for comparing citizens with traditional values to Adolf Hitler."

"SB777 is a mandate for every school district, ending local control on sensitive issues," the Save Our Kids website says. "SB777 normalizes homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality across the state, without room for local discretion on addressing these issues."

England told WND that the law is not a list of banned words, including "mom" and "dad." But she said the requirement is that the law bans discriminatory bias and the effect will be to ban such terminology.

"Having 'mom' and 'dad' promotes a discriminatory bias. You have to either get rid of 'mom' and 'dad' or include everything when talking about [parental issues]," she said. "They [promoters of sexual alternative lifestyles] do consider that discriminatory."

The California plan still is facing a court challenge on its constitutionality in addition to the possible vote of the people.

The organization notes earlier state law already "establishes equal protection for every California public school student," so that SB777 was unnecessary. It specifically requires: "No teacher shall give instruction nor shall a school district sponsor any activity that promotes a discriminatory bias" against homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality." l

Battle of the Ballot Begins

A new poll from Capital Resource Institute indicates that 56 percent of Californians oppose same-sex "marriage."

And thanks to an announcement by Secretary of State Debra Bowen, voters will have a chance to prove it. The ballot initiative that would define marriage as the union of a man and woman in the California state constitution was just approved.

With nearly 430,000 more signatures than required, protectmarriage.org and hundreds of volunteers have ensured that voters have an opportunity to correct the mistake of the state Supreme Court in legalizing gay "marriage."

Values voters have even more reason to go to the polls in 2008.

New Poll Finds Majority of Californians Support Traditional Marriage

Sacramento, CA - Capitol Resource Institute announced today the results of a survey that indicates that more than 56% of Californians oppose homosexual marriage.

Capitol Resource Institute announced today the results of a survey that indicates that more than 56% of Californians oppose homosexual marriage.

As part of a nationwide survey in the battleground states regarding the presidential election the following question was asked: Do you agree that only marriage between one man and one woman should be legal and binding in America? California answers this question "yes" 56.20%, and "no" 43.80%.

"We are not surprised by these results," states Karen England, Capitol Resource Institute Executive Director. "The people of California understand the judges overstepped their judicial boundaries. California has granted the most sweeping 'equality' laws in the nation. But the people of California have drawn the line at hijacking the term 'marriage' to describe these unions."

A Field Poll released last week reported that 51% of Californians support homosexual marriage. "This accurate new poll directly asks respondents' opinion of the definition of traditional marriage. Contrary to the vague Field Poll, this polling accurately reflects the true sentiment of the electorate," stated England.

The survey was completed by ccAdvertising of Herndon, Virginia in one 24-hour period ending at 7:00 p.m on May 30, 2008, with 528 California respondents (out of 7,613 respondents to the Traditional Marriage Question in the multi-state survey), and was statistically balanced by population density within each battleground state surveyed. The national survey results will be released on Wednesday.

Artificial intelligence call (AIC) or automated surveys like this one have proven to be more accurate than those using a live caller as noted in a Daily Kos post last week. "The reality is that Robo-pollsters like Survey USA and Rasmussen have had the best track record the past few election cycles." (Daily Kos May 28, 2008.)

Transgender Treatment for Kids at Boston Hospital

Children's Hospital Boston now offers gender changes to children as young as seven. At a Gender Management Service clinic, it helps boys develop feminine bodies and helps girls grow masculine bodies. Its treatments delay puberty. Adolescents then receive hormones, which cause growth to be in the height and form of the opposite sex. Stephanie Grant told ABC News that her child hopes to receive treatment.

Her son said he was "so mad at God, because God made a mistake." Dr. Norman Spack, who heads the clinic, believes he is helping children fix physical disorders and live out their true gender identities.

Yet Dr. Paul McHugh, University Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry at John Hopkins University, told FOXNews.com that "treating these children with hormones does considerable harm and it compounds their confusion." One side effect is infertility. Another is increased risk for breast cancer.

Austin Nimocks, senior counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund, tells FOX that there will eventually be litigation against parents and physicians for "what is essentially child abuse." Minors are too young to choose lasting physical changes and permanent infertility.

These patients are confused children, who are hurting because they believe they are trapped in the wrong gender body, and do not understand their true identities. Californians can expect children to confuse their identities in increasing numbers -- rather than realize the truth -- if state laws like SB 777 are allowed to ban "discriminatory bias" against transsexuality in school curriculum and activities.

The confusion literally embodied by Dr. Spack's patients underscores the need for California voters to protect students in this state.

New Congressional Focus on Homosexual Rights

One strategy for advancing the multisexual ethic in California is going nationwide. In 2002, state assemblymembers established America's first Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender Caucus. Its six members authored laws to grant homosexuals special protection in over 50 areas of state law (AB 14), legalize homosexual marriage (AB 43), and more. This month, members of Congress unveiled a new Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Equality Caucus.

The new Caucus aims to shape legislation, including through the expansion of hate crimes laws, and to be a resource for legislators and the public. It wants to pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act and the repeal the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. Founding member Lois Capps (D-CA) plans to seek a Caucus hearing on school bullying and how it can cause hate crimes, since "prejudice gets formed at an early age." The policies espoused by this Caucus would further establish the multisexual ethic, in part by silencing citizens who disagree.

Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), who co-chairs the Caucus, says "the very existence of an LGBT Equality Caucus in Congress makes a strong statement about the values this Congress and this nation hold dear." Almost one in three Caucus members is a California representative. Yet the very existence of this Caucus conflicts with values held by millions. Capitol Resource Institute often says that as California goes, so goes the nation. This is another unfortunate example, as national legislators work to overrule family values in the workplace, military, and schools.

To see whether your congressman joined the new Caucus, read Rep. Baldwin's press release: http://tammybaldwin.house.gov/PRArti cle.aspx?NewsID=1474

    Homeschooling Gestapo Strikes Again

What do homeschooling and drunk driving have in common? A lot, according to a German judge who made the comparison when he sentenced parents to three months in jail for educating their children at home.

Juergen and Rosemarie Dudek, both Christians, are one of the estimated 400 couples in Germany who secretly homeschool their kids despite an antiquated ban on the practice instituted by Adolf Hitler 70 years ago.

The decision, which smacks of Nazi-era oppression, will be appealed to a higher court, where the ruling will likely stand. German courts have repeatedly upheld homeschooling as a form of "child abuse," a conclusion echoing that of a California court last February when a three-judge panel struck down the rights of homeschooling parents in that state.

While the California ruling was later vacated, both have something in common--the desire to use public education as a vehicle for indoctrinating children in the liberal views of the state.

Important Announcement from Save Our Kids Campaign

In the last eight months the Save Our Kids coalition and volunteers have made incredible headway in the campaign to protect our children.

Without the tireless, dedicated efforts of our supporters, none of what we have accomplished would be possible. The generous support, prayers, and donations have humbled our staff and we will remain forever appreciative.

Even with the setback last fall of coming just short of our referendum qualifying, Save Our Kids supporters have continually reinforced our resolve to overturn SB 777. This cause is bigger than one campaign-it is part of the overarching battle to defend our values and freedom.

Since the start of the Save Our Kids initiative campaign, the political landscape in California has shifted significantly. The California Supreme Court's decision redefining marriage has turned the state's attention to the traditional marriage initiative on the November ballot. In the last month, our staff has worked overtime responding to the marriage decision and contemplating the future for traditional marriage in our state.

After much prayer, consideration and consultation we have made the decision to suspend the Save Our Kids campaign to allow our staff and supporters to dedicate themselves to the Marriage amendment.

As you can imagine, this was an extremely difficult decision considering our commitment to this issue and the knowledge that so many have sacrificed so much for our cause. However, we believe that the marriage issue is so critical to the future of California families that we must focus our attention on the marriage constitutional amendment. The unanimous sentiment of those with whom we have consulted is that we cannot win the battle over SB 777 and lose the war over traditional marriage, the foundation of our families.

The Save Our Kids campaign to overturn SB 777 will move forward, as soon as we restore marriage in November. For now, we ask you to join us in focusing all of our attention and resources on passing the Protect Marriage Initiative.

Once we have passed the marriage initiative, we plan to re-file the Save Our Kids initiative and begin our campaign again.

While we know this difficult decision will disappoint many of you, rest assured that your efforts have not been in vain. Our work to this point was laying the groundwork for all future campaigns. Everything you've done-educating citizens, collecting contact information, and opening new areas of influence-will be used for the marriage campaign.

Some may consider this decision to suspend the campaign a discouraging setback, but we believe in the wisdom of prioritizing our work and devoting our entire attention to the marriage campaign. Please don't be discouraged-we plan to return to Save Our Kids as soon as the highest priority marriage campaign is won.

Make no mistake that the marriage initiative is the critical issue of our time; even yesterday the homosexual lobby filed a lawsuit to stop the marriage initiative from appearing on the November ballot. Our opponents are well financed, organized and tenacious.

This kind of opposition demands our undivided attention and dedication.

As we move forward, CRFI's staff is developing our plan to help pass the Protect Marriage initiative. We ask that you stay tuned to our emails and rededicate yourselves to preserving traditional family values throughout California.

    With sincerest gratitude,

The staff of Capitol Resource Family Impact and Save Our Kids

P.S. Again, thank you for your generous support. Many of you have dedicated long hours and sacrificed a great deal. This effort is not over-it is simply on hold until marriage is saved.
