SO you get $64000 plus retirement in a cash strapped district. This article fails to mention several blunders under your watch...blunders that probably cost you your job and blunders that probably mean you shouldn't get that much money: 1. Misleading the board about district management raises. 2. For not securing district property at Hillcrest 3. For allowing the properties of this district to fall into disrepair 4. For crying poor when you have had a surplus of 20% 5. For treating board members like ignorant obstacles to your desires. 6. For taking raises when no one else in this district got a raise 7. For personally attacking hard working professionals of this district 8. For not listening to the community when hiring builders...leading to massive problems with rodeo hills

I think the question you should ask is why is the school board is paying? Could it be that they have done something wrong?

The district is paying because legally, they are required to pay him. The fact that he's receiving what amounts to 6 months salary means that essentially they bought out his contract. It looks like a simple case of "we don't want you here, what will it take to get rid of you?"

It doesn't appear that the school board did anything "wrong." It's just business and how early termination of contracts are generally handled.

Have you reviewed the news of this district for the last year and a half. Everything that has happened has been some mishap or pr disaster related to Roth. Money wasted on the Swett field, unneccesary budget cuts, giving biz manager an unauthorized raise, lawsuit settlement, huge excess budget monies, etc. If Roth really felt like the board did something wrong it would be a major pay day for him...like his whole contract plus some. The most postive thing here is that perhaps they both wanted out and they get there way...just a steep price for a district that needs to spend money improving. This district needs to step into the 21st century and it needs a super that can balance the financial needs with the real needs to make this place a real learning community...not just a place that holds kids.
