Due to recent 'Suspicious Circumstances' in our neighborhood, some residents of the Shore Acres neighborhood in Bay Point are taking action. We invite every able body to come together on Saturday evening at the Shop-N-Save parking lot on the corner of Pacifica Ave. and Pt.Chicago Hwy at 6pm to begin a candlelight march through our streets. Our goal is to raise awareness about the man in the red truck that has been approaching our kids. We want everyone to know that this will not be tolerated in our neighborhood and we as a community will band together with sheriff's and schools to ensure that our kids are safe. We all need to communicate as parents to know where our kids are at all times. We need to put faces with names of our kids' friends and their families. We need to talk to our children about safety. Stress the importance of not talking to strangers and if they are approached, they need to run as fast as they can and yell to attract attention. Schools and law enforcement have been very forthcoming with information, and assistance. We need to share that information with our neighbors that may not have children in the schools so that they can be aware of the situation too and watch out for the kids. IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO PROTECT A CHILD!!
