I am pregnant and want to know if anyone has had any luck with skin care for stopping stretchmarks? I have heard that some are not safe to use and can harm my baby but I am so confused by which ones are ok and actually work to prevent stretchmarks, as I happily grow into my 9 month bump!

Hey! Congrats on your pregnancy, I am 3 months pregnant and have had 8 girlfriends all use this product called belli skin care, Elasticity Belly Oil that helps to prevent stretchmarks. Their doctor told them it was the safest to use, then I saw it on a current affair the other night as well. I read up all about in on their website and it talks heaps about what is safe, really interesting. None of my friends got ANY stretchmarks at all and swear by this for stopping stretch marks. I have only just started using it but so far so good! I ordered all of their other skin care for pregnancy as well from www.belliskincare.com.au and LOVING it. Wish you all the best for the months ahead, we are together in the skin stretch J don’t forget to join the VIP thing on their site before you order, you get a discount that way, i forgot myself but definitely worth it you get 15% off. Good luck.

feel this was just a post to advertise a product? Are you for real? The last thing you should be worrying about is your stretch marks. You said it when you said the products might harm the unborn baby. That is so true. Why take that chance? You are starting out thinking of your body first, not the babies. Stretch marks are the tatoos of Motherhood. I wear mine with pride!

Ad'har Ru'afo, the leader of the Son'a, played by F. Murray Abraham in Star Trek, Insurrection, seemed to have a handle on loose skin as we saw in his flesh stretching sessions he endured where his facial skin was pulled up over his forehead and stapled to his skull. This technique seems perfectly safe.

stoney, that doesn't leave much room for a 9 lb 6 oz baby boy to move around. Wouldn't want to stunt his growth. How would he pick nuts? LOL

Aren't we talking after birth? Or should I say, after the birth?

LMAO, Stoney! By far, yours is the best suggestion, LOL! (Good thing I didn't have a mouthful of coffee right when I read it, or I'd be cleaning off my monitor right now.)
I remember a girl in junior high school who swore up one side and down the other that she would Never. Ever. Get pregnant. so that she wouldn't have to worry about stretch marks. (She who would bake her lovely, olive-complected skin in the sun for hours, until she was the color of burnt toast; oh, now see . . . *there's* a reasonable trade-off.)
I've always wondered whether she ever did birth some kids; or if not, whether she put on some excess poundage over the years, which . . . quel surprise! . . . causes stretch marks (much worse than pregnancy, IMO). The OP's question comes up frequently on Weight Watchers' message boards. It does seem a little odd as a pregnancy question.
The good thing about stretch marks is that they eventually fade into very faint, silvery lines once the source of the skin stretching is no longer a contributing factor

Thought I'd seen it all -
nope - an old thread about stretch marks brought up from ? (joke)
Well Mr Manny - sounds like you will be scoring points with your "wife" with these comments ;)
EEgahds - maybe this thread should be deleted with all the links and ads
Food for Thought: If there was a "cure" for stretch marks, people would not be asking about it - they'd be extinct and there would be one very rich person out there that discovered the cure :)
