I think it's time the Supervisors and District Attorney were reminded of the County's Mission, Vision and Values statement available at:

I don't think cutting the DA's office and eliminating certain crimes from prosecution fulfills those - especially the "enable our residents to enjoy a safe...life" or "improve the quality of life of our residents and the economic viability of our businesses" parts.
