samiam1, if you have any evidence, or better yet, proof, of your texting claims then please call the Pleasanton Police Department at (925) 931-5134. If you are passing on a rumor then call the number anyway and tell them who you heard the claim from so that police can contact that person.
FWIW, the crosswalk involved is right next to a public park and gets a fair amount of pedestrian traffic meaning drivers in the area should be extra cautious. As the girls were reported as being in this crosswalk responsibility falls on driver to be aware of and to stop for them.
Pedestrians need to take more respomsiblily for themselves. I would NEVER cross a street or walk in front of a car before making sure it saw me but I see it time after time where people nowadays just walk without looking. I have never seen it as bad as it is now. None of the kids look they are so self assured that they just assume that everybody sees them.
3 girls walked right in front of me last week and the sun was in my eyes going around a curve and I didnt see them till the last minute and when I raised my fist at them they all cussed me out..lol
KIds are stupid nowadays when it comes to thier safety?
