Well let me start off by saying, i was wrong...i didn't think we would get mcfadden at all, but then again my argument was 2 things....i said we didn't need another running back, and also also if chris long was there we would take him, but shiot, long got taken at the 2nd spot....i was actually at rame's house when i was watching the draft and i told him once long got taken at number 2 i had a hunch al was gonna take mcfad....

i was bothered by it because i think he is a troublemaker and i don't think we need the guy, but oh well....i always maun up and admit when i am wrong on anything with no ifs, ands, or buts about it, so congrads to you guys, you got the guy you wanted...it's about time eh?....YOU WERE RIGHT, I WAS WRONG..

and to anyone and everyone who knows rame i just wanted to say that brotha is one kewl [bleep] dude to the fullest...me and my cuz went out to visit him in Mass and he should us one hell of a time......the amount of money i spent to take the trip was definitely worth it and i beat him in madden every game, lol...on his own system....(playstation 3)....up next, stew....stew when i come out there in june i will beat the shiot outta you, lol...

i heard the draft was upsetting to most so i want to see who in the hell we drafted....peace

HEY BRO!!!...yeah i always admit when i am wrong, i mean hell stew and i would go back and forth about it on the phone, so why not admit when i am wrong?...it doesn't hurt anyone at all and if you are gonna debate and predict someone witll be right and someone will be wrong...nothing wrong with that.

hey thanks maun and i am very well known for admitting when i am wrong, and it will continue as well....peace

Yo man! How you been? thats awesome that you and rame got to hang out.

I have to say I too was a bit upset at the pick at the time. Had a real hunch too that they were going to take him, but I was hoping we would have gotten Dorsey. After looking into it and thinking about it though I'm quite happy with the pick. I don't think that he is going to be the stud right away that most others do, but I think that he will get there and help out Russell in the passing game as well as keeping defenses true and not blitzing Russ all the time.

Like most of the experts were saying, we spent a boat load of money on our D and not so much on the offensive side. We already got rid of Rhodes and I'm sure Jordan will be next. Fargas, McFadden and Bush can be a nice backfield for us for a while. Drafting Dorsey or another defensive player in the first round and paying him top 5 money would have just made to much of an investment on D and if they struggle again where do you go from there?

I'm hearing from guys on the NFL network and ESPN that they think McFadden will be offensive rookie of the year! When was the last time we had one of those? Its going to be an exciting season with all the new additions with most of them starting and they should make an impact pretty quickly!!!

yeah maun i had a hell of a time at rame's spot and he made sure me and my cuz had a great time and that guy is popular as hell in his hood...it's like everyone knew the guy, even in dartmouth, mass, lol...geez....i never saw so many dunkin' donuts before in my life...i loved it and i am gonna for damn sure go back again....but i gotta visit stew next in june...will buy the plane tickets prolly on the 9th or something....we went to boston, dartmouth, providence, and new bedford all in like 3 days maun.

i was pissed about the pick, but like you, i have come to accept it, maybe this could work out....i didn't think we needed the guy, i really wanted chris...i hope this works, because if it doesn't kiff will be gone...lol....anyhoo maun i need to tell you something, you know that comedian mo'nique?..well she has a radio show about to launch and it will broadcast in L.A>...it will be syndicated...

yours truly will be producing that show in houston, along with my Tom Joyner Morning Show...wow, maun this has been the best year of my life so far, everythyang is going my way.

well, almost, lol....peace

Hahaha Dunkin' Donuts is delicious! Thats awesome that you had a good time. Not like I didn't think you would, but you know what I mean.

I wasn't really pissed about the pick. I was mearly upset about the fact that we could have gotten someone who at the time I thought was a bigger need. I know know that Dorsey would have been a good pick up, but we would have played him at the same position we invested millions into Kelly. DMC is going to be good for us and he gives us a stronger backfield. Having him and Fargas on the field at the same time you really don't know what to watch for. The kid could be used to throw the ball and to catch witch is something our team hasn't had since Garner. I don't know how well he catches, but everyone else seems to think he can.

Thats great man congrats on that!!! Sounds like your going to be busy

well one thing i found out is that fargas is the starter, but it will be a 2 back system...fargas and griffith and then fargas and ol' mcfad...both of those 2 guys can get 5 yards if the blocking is there...this is gonna be our fastest backs (2 guys) since bo and marcus...and hell, marcus ran a 4.5 i found out....they both can get it done, but i still think we could have extra picks if we did it the right way...but it's over, i am no longer upset.

hey thanks maun and having 2 shows pretty much guarantees job security, lol...peace

Haha job security is a good thing to have man!!

Fargas is the starter now, but I'm sure it won't be long till DMC takes the bulk of the carries if he is the stud that everyone says. We should have some good backs playing so I'm not to worried about the position. Fargas is going to have to stay healthy all year otherwise he could lose his job to either Bush or McFadden.

UMM, WELL I LOOK AT it like this, fargas is an al davis favorite and a kiffin fav as well...he went to usc, fargas doesn't back down from a challenge because he is proven that his whole career here...too many neevr think he will do this, or that, but he always does...it also will depend on his progress as a starter...he understands the offense because he was hre first...

they are both running 4.3's...fargas gets yards no matter who likes him or not....at his best he is damn near running 5 yards a carry....he already proved he can carr it 20 times a game because kiff used the hell out of him and he can be relied upon because that guy performed against our rivals this year...i think he will start if he is getting a good amount of yards...they will have no reason to make him 2nd....there for some reason is or has been questions about dmac's endurance...why?...did he not carry the load a lot in college?...help me because i don't know.

yeah i agree, fargas is gonna have to not get hurt, but hell, he and dmac have the same upright running style so both will need to run lower to not get hurt and take those direct hits....bush could get hur on any play as well...hit him one good time in the leg and he could be done for....

yeah maun i am gonna produce 2 shows and yup, when it's time to cut employees i hopefully will be one they look over....with 2 shows, i will go on record and say i am an important employee now...now more than ever...peace maun

Don't get me wrong man, I'm not saying that Fargas should lose his job, I'm just saying that because Kiffin and Davis felt it necessary to draft the best RB (arguably) that they want another option besides Fargas. He has a history of getting banged up and unless he can stay healthy his job is in jeopardy.

McFadden doesn't look like the kind of back that can take on a beating by carrying the ball 20 times. If he bulks up he may be able to do it but I dont know if I would count on that. McFadden obviously didn't carry the full load last year at Arkansas and you can see that simply by his fellow RB from Arkansas going to the Cowboys in the first round.

Fargas and McFadden both run high yes, but McFadden isn't going to try to run through people like Fargas does. Fargas is an animal when he runs and he isn't going to shy away from you with a full head of steam. Any player can get hurt at any moment, but the fact that Fargas hasn't been able to finish a full season yet and now hes starting..... kinda leaves room for doubt that he can do it. As far as Bush goes, He has taken lots of time to rehab and build up muscle in his leg that I'm sure its not that big of a deal. We have seen RBs break their legs and still have promising careers(McGahee). I'm not worried about Bush's broken leg, I'm more worried about how well he can transition from college speed to the NFL just like the rest of the Rookies

I now expect you to have 3 shows by the end of the year! You now have given me high expectations for you and now I expect you uphold them! LOL HaHa I'm kidding man. Hope that doesn't get too stressful on you.

you know it's funny you say mcfad won't try to run through people because his scouting report says he does try to do that....and his highlights show hw tris to do that too...i won't knock either for that because hell, football is about toughness...and a raider should be tough....always, at any position....

if bush winds up being 3rd on the depth chart, it will prolly be for good reason that they won't explain...i believ fargas will get hurt at one point, but i won't worry about it because i can't control it....but a lot of backs get hurt, like deuce in new orleans, and a lot of others like henry in denver, but they still play...just as long when they play they are effective....but we guys who are in the nfl and are always hurt like portis and others i have just mentioned, still do their thang when they play....i was on youtube yesterday and they have some damn good fargas highlights....that dude was hard to stop when the blocking was there maun...he wastes no time...he sees the hole and goes....and he has the right attitude...he is very humble and hapy to be here, with no arrogance whatsoever...i do feel mcfad is a troublemaker and i believe he will f__k up before it's all said and done.

that was one reason why i didn't want the guy....peace bro and that show is supposed to start in either june or july...but they are telling me june....hey bro i am gonna go visit my boy stew in june...june 6th to be exact....if anyone tells you that you can't trust people on this site, let them know that aint true...peace

That is funny cause when I have seen the guy run he tries to get out of the way of defenders rather than pound through them. I haven't read his scouting report in a while so I'll have to check that out. Your right though about the toughness, I like when our backs can bruise through a defense!

I think Bush will be 3rd as well. I don't think Fargas will lose his job and sit the bench the whole game, but we all know that Lane will replace you and you wont be able to step foot on that field if someone comes in a proves more effective. Jordan didn't even really get that much of a second chance and Rhodes didn't get to prove himself until Fargas went down. Fargas' production was great last year, but if he gets hurt and McFadden comes in and plays the same way Fargas did last year, there is a good chance that Fargas may not have as big of a roll.

I do like however that you pointed out DMC's off the field problems. I'm hoping that it won't be a problem. Money and fame should chance the family because the brothers shouldn't have to bang anymore if DMC shells out money to them, but on the same token, them coming out to Oakland could pose a problem for them now that they have money and there are going to be people that want to mess with them. By the way... how exactly, when your brothers do you end up in rival gangs? I would think that at some point they would want you to kill your bro? were they trying to unite the two? YES thats what I think it was. they were in a gang to unite the two of them and they could all be friends. LOL

Ha Ha I trust people man. You guys are boys so I don't see the problem in it. Its not like were on a site to try to get a date, this site is a lot more than that LOL. We are here to talk about a passion and we automatically have something in common. Thats whats great. I'm sure even Mick is a cool guy just annoying at times Ha Ha.

you know lamont looked like he didn't care at one point....even when he was running....fargas won't change because nothing has been given to him....he has had competiton every year here...he is also a team player, but the guy is gonna get yards...it's his running style, he is just as fast as mcfad and we all saw this guy run his [bleep] off this past season and i for one won't forget it...that is why i look at that youtube video of him...this is a guy who all of you said would not even make it past training camp because of that acheimabu guy or whatever his name is....i look at it this way, mcfad is a rookie and he has to learn the nfl....if both guys are getting yards, fargas will remain the main guy until one of them will get hurt...i hope neither does though, but even i think fargas will get hurt at some point...hahahahaha.

i don't even want to get to know mick, lol....but yeah stew and his wife already have it set up for me and my gal to come out there on da 6th...it's really a celebration for me because mo'nique's show is supposed to start that same week....

but whatever happens, i don't doubt fargas, nor, mcfad, nor bush...i like them all, but i love it when fargas is running for all those yards...he is a home run hitter, some people tend to frget that....some say we have no homerun hitter, but when i look at that new scouting report about fargas on espn.com, it says he has premeire speed and he is a threat to score every time he touches da ball...lol...i mean just look at this, his speed is something else...he and mcfad will light it up, because you will always have a running back in a zone scheme who runs a 4.3...peace and watch

I know Fargas isn't going to change and I'm not worried about that. I know that he runs hard and, yes, he proved me wrong on just about everything I said about him. I look for him to have another good year, and if he can stay healthy to be able to rush for 1,300 yards. He will share time with McFadden, but I think it will be like Fargas had in the past. Our main back will get over 1,000 and the supporting back will get about 300.

That's going to be a good time. How long you going to be out with Stew?

Fargas isn't a home run hitter and nobody forgets that. Thats part of the reason we drafted DMC. Fargas picks up some good yardage, yet he isn't really capable of taking the rock 60 yards for a TD lets not forget that his longest run of his career has been 54 yards. He has great speed and acceleration but once in the open field he tends to get caught from behind. I wouldn't go as far as saying he is a home run hitter man LOL. The scouting report can say what it wants, but we know that he isn't going to break them open like Kaufman did. He's good, but I honestly don't think that he is going to score everytime he touches the ball. I know he is good for some good yards, but I'm not getting ahead of myself.

you know i really think how quickly defense adjust to our offense...i see that we keep talking, run, run, run and no passing, but in order for our running game to work through the whole season, and not just half of the season, our passing game will have to be good....but if you focus on the run, it can be stopped ya know...but i hope this team can at least give us 7 games maun...for crying out loud that is all i am asking for.

i will beout at stew's for a weekend...getting there firday and leaving sunday night since i got the day off, lol...meaning monday...my boss was telling me yesterday that he wasn't sure when mo'nique's show was actually gonna be in houston because they are still getting the show together in L.A....so it could be as far as july, but no further...stew and i are gonna work out together.

you know i think the reason why he got catught from behind was because his body wore down maun...he wasn't used to all those carries so i think it's a matter of him getting used to it, i heard he was practicing his [bleep] off....they were talking about it on da show here....but his speed makes him a home run hitter, i have read all of his scouting reports and it said so, they both are...those guys are lightning fast maun..i can't wait to see them.

i think fargas will suprise a lot of you again this year....i think he is a home run hitter...whatever happens he is damn sure a home run for a first down, lol....i mean shiot, maun, i gotta go with the scouts, they are not stupid, i respect what they do...hey did you see those highlights...and yeah the most he has ever gotten was 54 yards, but he never got a whole of reps, but he is now, no telling what may happen this year...a more and mature fargas with a better o-line understanding the zone scheme, who knows?...but i love it when people doubt fargas...in the end they will be saying "he proved me wrong again"...hahahahaha

i tell ya what thoguh, last year made me laugh a lot of you kats because most were way off with their prediction of him...hell him just making the roster made a lot of people wrong....let alone being a force against our rivals...peace maun

I hear you man. I know we need to pass the ball for the whole thing to work out. We need to have a balanced attack, however I think that we did fine running the ball last year with the amount of times we did run. I think that Russel will only get maybe 20 pass attempts a game assuming we aren't trailing by that much. But I totally agree man. And I like you would love it if we could win 7-8 games, hell 6 would be good!

Her show better come sooner than later right! Haha the sooner it gets here the sooner you get paid the big bucks!! LOL

I know Fargas is fast. I will never really doubt the guy again especially after he ripped me a new one on all the things negative I was saying about him. I still don't think he's the home run hitter that you do. The fact that he doesn't break away all that often proves that. He shows signs of HR capability just cant seem to find home plate. Maybe now that he can share time he may be able to break open those big plays and then take a breather, but your right, he did take a pounding and our D didn't really give anyone on offense that big of a break, and our O didn't give the D much of a break either. WE NEED BALANCE!!! Haha

But thats what I'm saying man. I don't think of a home run hitter as a guy that picks up first downs. I think of a HR hitter as someone you have to game plan for. Some one that will take it to the house if an assignment is blown. I like Fargas, and like you said he hasn't gotten many reps, but then again if he hasn't gotten many reps how can you call him a HR hitter all ready? Ha Ha its funny how NOW you value what scouts say, but when they say something negative about someone your just like "they don't know what they are talking about, its ESPN" LOL. I respect their opinion however I don't think it to be true all the time. You know how the media works man, hell your the one who would tell me not to buy into what people say. If they said that Fargas is a career back up I'm sure you would disagree with them. Hes a good player but I'm not calling him a home run hitter as of yet.

Yea I was way wrong about him in that respect. I didn't think he had what it took to be a starter in the league and he proved me wrong. I thought that he was a capable back up or a split carries type of guy and I was wrong about that too. I for one though would much rather be wrong about saying a player isn't as good hand them prove me wrong than the opposite. He helped the team win some games!

yeah we did fine, but we caught everyone off guard and you gotta understand it could be difficult because teams now have film on us...kinda like how new orleans caught everyone off guard 2 seasons ago and they sucked last season once teams got film on them....so we will need to pass that ball...there will be a time when we are gonna need to pass da ball...the running game won't save us every week...and hell, i would love to run a ball, my fav back is starting for crying out loud, but i know our backs can't do it by themselves....hahaha, yeah 6 games would be a treat since even that is a challenge for us to get there.

i won't get big bucks for that show, just a little extra, but it does bring more perks and one hell of a resume'...not to mention come budget cut time, my role here will be so important, they will skip over my name, and that is a blessing because like 2 months ago, 6 people got canned in one day....they said the economy was the blame, lol.

well whatever happens, fargas avereaged what?...4.8 yards a carry which means when he gets the rock he is damn near set for a first down...i still remember during that sorry shell year when at one point fargas was averaging 10 yards a carry for about 5 games, remember that before it fell to 4 yards?....

yeah i agree with scouts when they talk about fargas, lol....that dude could not be stopped at one point last season...he just kept getting yards...there were a few games when he didn't get many carries at all, just think if he started from the outset?...he was looking at 1,400 yards easily....had he not got hurt towards the end he was looking at about 1,200...

maun i can't for this season...how about this, in your regard, fargas has the speed to go all the way, how about that?

glad you admitted that you were wrong...this seems to be a new you, lol....well it's the zone scheme...he is a speedy high running back, he needs holes to be there because he isn't the most agile guy, but if the holes are there, expect him to get a guaranteed 4 to 5 yards, hell he did that in college as well, but shiot, his style will get him hurt...this i have no doubt of and you gets no arguments from me in that regard....i think we have 3 good backs for once...

but there was a time when i was watching justin and i was thinking "damn, look at this guy, he is fast as hell".....also, "they should have played him a long time ago"....lastly, "i wonder what sac is saying now?"...hahahahaha...peace

I don't think it will matter. Look at Denver. Everyone knows they are a strong running team and yet they have trouble stopping it look at Atlanta, who when Cable was there lead the league in rushing offense for 2 straight years. The Saints are a bad example based on the fact that they struggled due to injuries. Bush proved he couldn't carry the load and with Duce off the field and no running game teams would just throw guys in the secondary and make it difficult for Brees. Lets not also forget the fact that David got burned for more TDs that we scored all year as a team LOL. I think we see a lot of the same from last year. I think Kiffs play calling is going to be a bit better too. 6 wins is improvement and thats what I want to see. I want to see another Super Bowl, but if we can get better on a yearly basis then we should be there in a few years especially if McFadden and Russell turn out.

Job stability is always a nice thing man. Not to mention it takes a lot of stress off LOL.

Again, I think that he is a great RB. I think that he had the best running year we have had from an RB since Garner and Wheatley. However, he still doesn't have the HR power that your talking about. Thats like saying that Ichiro is a HR hitter in baseball. He doesn't hit HRs but he scores a lot of runs and his batting average is always high. Fargas has a good YPC avg. and like you said just about everytime he touches the ball he is close to a first down. I however don't think that he has the speed to carry the ball 75 yards to the house. I think 9 out of 10 times he is run down, a HR hitter finishes the play and scores. There is nothing wrong with being an explosive RB. just because you dont have home run hitter in your name doesn't mean you wont be productive.

This is his scouting report from ESPN Insider: 2008 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc. Grade: 52 | Key Alert: D

Comment: Four-year veteran Fargas has excellent size and excellent straight-line speed. The problem is that he plays the game like a sprinter, not a football player. He runs hard and is a strong runner but does not break many tackles, as he runs with a narrow base and is easy to knock off balance. He can be explosive to the hole but he needs the hole to be where it is designed to be, and he lacks lateral cutting range and is not quick to stop and bounce it outside when the hole is plugged. He is not elusive when he gets to the open field and needs to be able to beat people with his straight line speed. He catches the ball well out of the backfield and has been productive as a kick returner. He is very average as a blocker both when leading the play and in pass protection. Fargas has also struggled to stay healthy and last season was the first in which he played in all 16 games.

You agree with that? Haha I agree with most and I also agree that he could have gotten 1,400 yards if he started all season. Lets not forget that he did carry the ball 222 times which isn't bad.

Did you know that Jake Grove is our highest rated OL on the team??? He is rated the 7th best player on the team according to scouts Inc.

Hahaha When he was running well I was saying "damn dude.... Maz was right now I'm going to have to hear it for days on the message board" LOL!! But hey man I usually always admit when I'm wrong, the only problem is lots of times its an opinion and its arguable just like me saying that Barry Sanders is a better back than Emmitt ya know. Its all a matter of premise cause you can bring up a valid argument for either.

you ain't lying, bush can't carry a load...i remember when all these guys were saying that we needed to get bush that year...lol....now not many talks about him...

hey that is the old scouting report maun...there is another one out on espn...i will copy it in a second....just know they flip flopped on the second one after the thousand yards.

Grade 70 Expert's Take Fargas is a six-year veteran out of USC who was drafted by the Raiders in the third round of the 2003 draft. He had been pretty much a spot player who spent most of his time on the bench until 2006 when he started six games and gained 659 yards. Then this past season he started seven games and really began to show promise before missing the final two games. He ended up with 1,009 yards on 222 carries for an average of 4.5 yards per carry and appears ready to take the top spot, if he can stay healthy. He has had issues with minor injuries in his collegiate career as well as in the NFL and needs to stay on the field to really prove his worth. He has excellent size along with premier straight line speed. He is beginning to understand how to follow his blockers and show patience as he allows the hole to develop and will show a good burst through the hole once it opens up. He is not naturally a real elusive runner, but if he can gain a step on the defense he has the speed to go all the way. He is pretty much a one-cut runner who has to run north and south rather than try to bounce it to the outside if the hole does not develop quick enough. He tends to run with a narrow base and can be tripped up easier than youd like. He catches the ball well out of the backfield and has improved as a blocker but still needs a lot of work in that area.

hey it's kinda hard to look at the ratings because they are from last year, or what they did last year...the one above is after the season...notice how they switch up da shiot after a good season right?...his grade went from a 52 to a 70....you also see where it says if he can get a step on a defender he has the speed to go all the way?....that means homerun hitter maun.

peace

Ha Ha I know I'm right on Reggie. I was talking to my roommates about that before he got drafted. He doesn't look like he will ever be able to handle being the main guy. I think he's too small and he tries to make something happen every time he touches the ball and thats not always a good thing.

That is funny how they flip flopped on that. He went up 18 points in one season? thats pretty impressive.

No, had they said that he has a step on the defense and can take the ball all the way, or actually stating that he is a homerun hitter that would be saying that. They said that IF he could get a step he has the speed to go all the way. Lots of guys have the speed to go all the way but die while they are trying to sprint the last 15-20 yards. Again man, I'm not saying that he isn't good or even an exciting back, I'm just saying that he isn't quite the HR hitter you say he is. He had quite a few open looks down field and got picked up by the safety. As many 10-15 yard runs that he had last year he should have been able to take a few to the house if he had that HR power. Its not a bad thing man, he pounds out yards runs hard and has a hefty average. Even kiffin said in an interview after we got DMC, regarding the speed of his backs. He said something about how McFadden brings speed that none of the other backs have. He said that Fargas had the same type of speed but that was before his surgeries. Kiffin said it, Fargas has lost some speed because of all his injuries.

I'm turned into a believer on Fargas, but I'm not quite ready to say that he is a HR hitter until he proves it to me.

THE FUTURE

yeah that is exactly my point...remember all that "every time he touches the ball" "homerun hitter" shiot about reggie when he came out?....but he ain't doing it and they say the same thing about mcfad as well...this is the nfl, no one is gonna let you run for those 60 yarders all the time...you have to get acclimated to running for only 5 yards sometimes...people ripped me to shreds when i told them i wasn't a bush fan, but so far i was right about him...if he carrys a load i will shut up.

that whole homerun hitter is overrated for one reason, it doesn't happen all the time, guys who come in the league with that label are in for a rude awakening...for me, i am like this, if we run the ball with either bush, fad, or farg, if it started as 1st and 10 and we wind up having 2nd and 4 on second down, i will never say anythig bad....that is a promise.

teams that really have homerun hitting type of backs have those elite o-lines and we are not like that yet....but i am really excited for gallery, i am glad he settled in one spot ya know?

and yeah they do flip flop when you have a good season...but the world is full of flip floppers, sometimes they make it seem like you will never get better...guess there is no such thing as experts...but hell, even some people on here flopped on fargas...i watched it happen, but the guy played his [bleep] off so i can understand that...never not once asked for anything in return, he just kept running.

hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...you said they die trying to get the last 15 yards...hahahahaha....good one....well i chalked that up to not ever starting, but since he now knows he has the starting job he could prepare differently and now take it all the way...

i have been a believer in fargas since the very get go....nothing will change this, no matter what anyone labels him...he conquered everythang so i may as well keep believeiing, but wow, if he is still this fast with all thos einjuries just think of how fast he was when he didn't have them?...peace

I'm not saying that McFadden will be able to do that all the time either. I don't know if he is a HR hitter because we haven't seen him in a game yet, but Fargas isn't a HR hitter just like Stew and I have been talking about. You don't game plan for the guy, and when he gets to the outside do you honestly think hes gone? I never think that about him because he runs out of gas. Nothing wrong with that. When you average as many YPC as he did last year you cant be upset, but is he the HR hitter that Peterson or LT is? Hell no.

Yea I thought the same about Bush. I thought he would be a better return man than he is though. He isn't that bad, but I thought he would be a bit closer to Devin Hester than he is.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with gaining 5-7 yards on 1st down. I will never complain about that, but I'm still not going to say that that player is a HR hitter because they pick up first downs. Fargas has the ability to change games, he just doesn't do it as often as your other HR hitters. Look at the guys who had more yards than he did... I wouldn't even put most of those guys in the HR hitter category.

I'm excited for Gallery. He is finally starting to look like the player we wanted, only he is playing a different position. He still needs a bit of work, and hopefully can cut down on the penalties.

Eventually your going to have to flip flop though. I just think that its funny to see that when your team is struggling your rating goes down and then when the team is full of studs and everyone is playing well you get great ratings and reviews. I flip flopped on Fargas however I am still proven right on the fact that he can't stay healthy. LOL

I hope thats the case, but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets competition from Bush and McFadden to take over the starting role. I know that Kiff said that he wants to ease McFadden into the RB position, but lets not forget that he has always been pretty vague in everything he says. I also think that Fargas will play better if he has competition.

Thats right. And think about How fast McFadden is going to be. Fargas has great acceleration, but I don't really see the long distance speed. Either way I'm excited to watch our Offense this year. I think they can be far better than last year and with some improvements on D I think we are well on our way be being the 2nd best team in the AFC West.

THE FUTURE maun i really hate this new site, it really sucks and you are right, the new "sleek" design really sucks when the blog starts to get full.

uhh, every back who starts get gameplanned for, but i see what or where you are getting at...i think you are off...when you constantly get 100 plus yards you do game plan for him...in order to stop fargas you need to beat him to where he is trying to get too because he is fast enough to get some damn good yards...this guy has a good amount for 100 yard games last season...and if they don't gameplan for that, then you know what?...then the defensive coordinator is stupid...hell you got a good chance of winning if you can stop him under a hundred yards...last year if you stopped fafrgas then you basically stopped the raiders because we could do nothing else....we could not pass last year...that is gameplanning at least in my book....i remember when rame (who has great insight) told me when we played against green bay last season that if fargas doesn't have a good game then we have no chance in hell to win...he was right, but i predicted that loss anyway...but the point was rame saw that oakland rode the hell outta fargas last season and when he produced we won...when he didn't we wasn't gonna win...i think teams will have to watch out for the guy because averaging almost 5 yards a game is a threat to any defense...a back isn't supposed to average that much....i mean seriously, answer this for me, wouldn't you get a little pissed if we were playing madden and i kept getting about 4 to 5 yards a carry against you?...i know i would....that is damn near grounds to break the controller...

hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....woooo!!!!!!!!!!!

whatever happens, no matter what you guys think of him, i would gameplan for the guy because if you don't, he instantly becomes more of a threat....go ahead and not gameplan for him, shiot, then the next thing you know he is looking at 130 yards...this would go for bush and mcfad as well....fargas took people by suprise last season but defenses will adjust.

Look at the guys who had more yards than he did... I wouldn't even put most of those guys in the HR hitter category.

well bro he only played 1 season where he started and it was midseason...geez..give the maun a chance....whatever happened to believeing in your team?...hahahahaha.

now in terms of gallery, well, it's oakland, and our line is usually the king of penalties....and hey what is so right about being right on him being unhealthy?..hell, fargas is always unhealthy, notice i don't debate with you about that?...lol....shiot the truth is the truth...i don't expect him to play a full season ever.

i hope we can stop the run this year maun...and i hope we can get to the qb...al needs to allow rob to let us blitz goddammit!!!!

I know man, they really need to look into fixing that. I don't think they figured that us raider fans would talk this much to eachother and the boxes would get this small LOL.

I still don't think teams game plan for HIM. I think they are just trying to stop the run. You pretty much game plan for every back wether they are good or not. I dont think teams game plan for him because they know that we struggle passing the ball so they can rush more guys to the LOS without taking much risk of it being a pass or a rush. Hahah are you trying to say that if you rush for 100 yards in quite a few games your a HR hitter? I have never disputed the fact that Fargas was good, just the fact that he isn't a HR hitter.

Hahaha Don't even try to put that on Fargas. Even when he ran well we lost. He helped out a lot, but we still had Rhodes behind him who lets not forget ran for 100 yards in his last two games. In the games we won he ran well because we were doing what other teams do to us and thats pound the ball and run the clock, Fargas is very good at that and I have said that. You and I both know that its tough to win a game based on your passing game alone, especially when you don't have a QB like Manning or Brady or Farve. Lets also not forget its difficult to do with WRs like Curry (who dropped a lot) Porter and Dwight. Can't win football games if you cant move the football and we couldn't do it thorough the air so we had to do it on the ground. Not a very difficult prediction.

I don't play madden so I don't know that I would be pissed, although when I used to play I used to have a mean running game LOL.

OK your obviously missing the point. You game plan for every starter. You game plan for the WRs you game plan for the QB you game plan for every back that is in the game and the formation they are in. If a guy knows where Fargas is running and he is there and he doesn't get blocked Fargas is tackled. Due to Cables great scheme that doesn't happen all that often. I don't think that Fargas is the guy they game plan AROUND. They know that he is going to carry the ball they just want to make sure that they get to him regardless of if its Fargas or Bush or McFadden or Jordan. Fargas did take many people by surprise and I think that a lot of it is due to the system. The system is designed for backs just like him.

Hahaha are you flip flopping? I believe in him and the team, I just dont agree with you labeling him as a HR hitter. One season doesn't make anyone a HR hitter.

That was my big knock on Fargas. The fact that he is never healthy doesn't help the team much. He plays well when he is on the field, but if he cant stay on the field what good does it do us? I like the kid and everything, I'm just pointing out the fact that I wasn't 100% wrong on him LOL.

I would love to see us blitz more. never really understood why we didn't in the first place. It would help out the pass rush and now that we have a good secondary we don't need the extra protection. I don't think we will have problems getting to the QB, but like you said, there is a huge need to stop the run again for the 3rd damn year!!!! hell its been more than that who am i kidding?

yeah when you said that they gameplan for everyback that was what i meant, but after last season i still think they would focus on him more...i mean it's not like he will line up all over da place, but if i was a coordinator i would tell me line and lb's to get where he is goign before he gets there because fi not he will get some yards, good yards...there is a difference between yards and good yards ya know?

yeah you are right when we ran well we still lost, but he gave defenses fits and you can't say diferent...shiot at one point we were punting so much because our passes sucked i wanted them to keep giving farg da rock...

well don't forget maun in the art shell year we could not run or pass.....yeah there is nothing better than getting about 5 yards on your opponent in da game, lol...it pisses my cuz off...i beat him yesterday...

i believe in our backs more than i have in a while i will tell you that...i am suspect about our wr's...i am still suspect about our pass blocking and our pass rush and our not stopping da run...but i am down with our backs for sure...i like all 3....

maun myself as a fan can't help a playa getting injured so i won't come down on the guy for that...his style will get him injured, just help the team while you are in there....hell it doesn't bother the coaching staff or the front offcie, so why should it bother me...i could see if the guy aveagred 2.9 yards a carry....he was injured before became a raider, so why bother now?

every year every team has a guy who cant stay healthy, it happens....but if he controibutes when he is out there, you keep him...the guy isn't an expensive player....

you talk a little too bad about guys who get injured when you have been injured yourself the last two times i have talked to you, lol.

it's football maun, players get hurt....that doesnt bother me maun...if al signs fargas, i will support justin every single time...i like him and i am a fan and an injury can't turn me away....he plays for oakland and i'd rather him get yards for us than any other team...

i am too loyal to players to turn my back on a guy that gets hurt if i like him....i would say the same thign about you if i supported you on the field and you got hurt alot...i was taught to like your favs through thick and thin...hell i supported wood all the time so why wouldi not support [bleep]ras because of injuries?

shiot, i still support wood...no one was more proud of his first season when he got the 8 picks...no one....to me that was a big suck my d__k to all who opposed and i would say the same thing if fargas left and he kicked [bleep] for anotha team...

a lot of players i have always liked could play, they just needed more opportunities...

i am really hoping porter kicks [bleep] for jacksonville maun...i also hope they win period becuase i want to see porter in da playoffs because that shiot wasn't gonna happen here.

hey maun i feel ya on the blitzing...look no further than davis if you want to know why we don't blitz....kiff already went on record to say that al is all the positions it's just that he doesn't sit on the sidlelines...peace

Just to drop in on your Fargas conversation here...

I gotta agree with Stew and Sac on this one. Fargas isn't a home run hitter, he's just a speed back. His speed allows him to turn a 2-3 yd gain into a 5-6 yd gain but he's not dangerous from every spot on the field. He's an excellent guy to run between the 20's, but inside the redzone he disappears as is evidence by his low TD numbers. As far as gameplanning for Oakland I think you game plan for the running game itself, not necessarily Fargas. I don't know many teams in the league that shake in their boots whenever they have to face a RB whose career high for a season is 1009 yds.

Valley,

Good to see you again. All things said, I have respect for your opinion on these boards. I agree with you wholeheartedly on the Fargas thing. I said almost the exact same thing to Future about the "gameplannning" thing you stated in your post. The scheme is what you gameplan for, not Fargas - whereas for a "HR hitter" you game plan more so for the player I would imagine because they are more than just a function of the scheme. I was telling future that even Jordan was clowning in this scheme, but that didn't make him a HR hitter. It's just a better scheme for Jordan. I also agree with idea that 1009 yards doesn't make you feared in the league.

On the Nam tip, I believe he's shutdown - probably more so because the label is given out to any CB that effectively takes a WR out the scenario. I think that NAm does that and I was sold when Chad Johnson gave him props as one of the best CBs in the league. Agreed that he could do it over more seasons to "soldify" that rep per se, but IMO respect from one of the top WRs in the league about your cover skills means a lot. Hope all is well and stay up.

well this makes me proud.

Green Bay Packers Overrated: S Atari Bigby. He had some good plays down the stretch and in the playoffs. But he became a January phenomenon. If you watched him during the season, he struggled in coverage.

Underrated: CB Charles Woodson. It's criminal that he didn't go to the Pro Bowl last season. He was their best corner, not Al Harris, who did go to the Pro Bowl.

I will go out on a limb here and say that most all D coordinators tell all their players to try to get where the ball carrier is going to stop them. Thats how you play the game man. Even if your slow, guys are going to try to get to where you are and put a helmet on you because if they don't your going to get some good yards.

I know He ran great last year, but thats not our argument. I don't think anyone will say that he didn't run well for us, he earned his contract. Your just not understanding that he isn't the HR hitter you say.

We have a lot of question marks on the team. We are pretty much set in the secondary and the RBs. we are also set in my mind at LB. We could use one more, but I don't think that its a huge need.

I'm not spending money to watch a player that has potential sit the bench. It bothers me because with as much money as he makes (even though its not my money) sitting the bench doesn't help the team. If Kelly doesn't put forth his moneys worth over the next few years I will be upset at that. Getting hurt doesn't help us it hurts us. You will never be a Star player if your on the bench every year.

He's expensive now! he earned a contract and while he performs on the field, he is getting paid for 16 games not 12. Its one thing to miss half a game here and there or even a game, but look at most of the valuable guys on a team and you tell me how often they get hurt. Your not valuable if you get hurt and someone can replace you.

Ha Ha. You have a point, however I play the whole season. I play injured and I'm not getting paid millions. Guys get hurt in every game yet they come back and play.

Don't try to turn this around to something it never was. We weren't arguing about how healthy Fargas is or isn't. Fargas can't stay healthy and he earned a new contract. Why are we even talking about it. You know he gets hurt as well as I do. He performs on the field but would be a far better player if he could play a whole season. 1,009 yards and he didn't even play the whole year. that extra 300-500 yards rushing due to missed games would have made a huge difference.

Where are you coming up with this stuff? I never said that you shouldn't support or dislike Fargas. Your on a whole new page with this stuff man LOL

Porter will make it to the playoffs. The Jags are to good to not make it.

i hope with me dating these damn posts you can locate them easier, you should do the same thing....hey maun i agree, about that gameplan part about what we talked about earlier, but but fargas can rack up more yards than a lot of backs....barring injury, a thousand yards will happen again....he is starting from da outset so i see no reason why it won't happen since he basically go most of his yards in trhe 2nd half of the season.

well i gotta see what hartwell does for us or uhh, didn't we get another lb?...we could not stop the run so another lb is needed for damn sure...yeah now see the kelly thing, maun, that guy didn't ask fir that amount, lol....i really don't think he will live up to that contract so let me go on record saying that now...actually, i think a lot of people don't think he will live up to that...lol...so if he doesn't live up to that contract, believe it or not, the guy i will get mad at is al....i mean that is warren sapp in his 6 years type of money, lol.

but in the end i cant control what happens on the field and recent history tells us that all the money being spent will prolly fail, but let's see what happens......but if this spending strategy doesn't work, nothing will...lol.

you are right, every player gets paid for 16 games, but you do realize that walker who got more than moss has been hurt like 3 out of 4 years right?...bro, players get hurt, no matter how much you dislike that...hell my fav player got hurt a lot (wood)...til this day i still support him....i won't turn my back on my favs because they got hurt...no one gets hurt on purpose bro...we might as well agree to disagree there...i don't think kelly intended to tear his acl...i don't think LT intended to hurt himself and take himself out of a playoff game...i don't gannon intended break his vertbrae'.....bo jackson with his hip....takeo spikes...it always sucks when players gets hurt, but al davis understands this and it is a risky biz...he got signed because he plays hard for us...whatever happens, that guy is gonna rack up major yards...once those holes open up...the list goes on and on for injuries...might as well add mcnabb in there, lol...hell might as well say my boy everett who got damn near paralyzed....i met him recently and i forgot to tell you this....that type of shiot ain't planned....now if a guy is getting hurt and playing only 5 games, then we have a problem.

so although i rip al all the time, as long as he signs fargas i know he is doing for a reason...you can't argue with that....

you talk a lot fo trash maun, i woudl injure you if we played football together for real, lol...if i ever make it to cali, we need to set up a physical one on one football and let mongoose be the qb...can he pass?..lol.. ..peace

hey if you feel like i am goig off topic, then why don't you step up and be a leader for crying out loud.

change the subject, because as long as you go back and forth, i will as well...change the subject..

please change it,.,.i dare ya!!!!

I don't look at the date you posted most of the time, I just look for the date in the date box on the post, but I'll try to help you out. LOL

He had the most yards out of any back in the second half of the season! Did you know that? I have no doubts that he will be able to rush for 1,000 yards again. I think he will set another career high at seasons end even while sharing time with McFadden. I think that having DMC help take pressure off him he may be a bit more durable and if we get Bush in sometimes having a 3 back rotation would be a nice compliment.

I'm not worried about the LB position to much. I think that Morrison and Howard are going to have to work on stopping the run cause they already have pass coverage in the books. Its going to be difficult for Kelly to match his contract, but I'm hoping that he can be a beast and stop the run along with generating 5-7 sacks. If he can even help keep other backs under 100 yards that would be awesome. But overall I agree with you on him not being able to live up to his contract. That kind of money is given to someone who is a perennial Pro Bowler and anything less than that will not be worth the money. I just hope it doesn't blow up in our face.

This spending spree could work either way. We almost seem like were in a win now mode, which is kinda crazy considering the fact that we have a very young team.

I know Walker gets hurt I know that, I thought the contract he got was ridiculous. I don't expect the world from him. I hope he can stay healthy, but we shall see.

Dude I'm not saying that you turn your back on a player because they get hurt. I know thats part of the game and I know that guys don't get hurt on purpose. But tell me, would you rather have a healthy Woodson or an Injured one? Crazy question, but I'm sure your going to say healthy. Woodson is a good player, but if I can get a same quality type player that has less history of injury thats what I would go with. LT got hurt, but how often does he miss games. Favre got hurt too but he didn't miss games. You can like all the players you want that get hurt all the time, but the fact is, I don't want someone on my team that is taking up a lot of cap room and not going to be able to make contributions in lots of games over his contract. Woodson left and as much as I didn't want to see him go I knew it was best for the team because he never stayed on the field all season. Paying a guy 9Mill to miss 6 games a season is a bit to much for me. Fargas isn't that expensive for us So I don't look at him as that big of a deal in terms of injury. Your pointing out freak injuries, not injuries that are chronic and consistent. Woodson always seemed to have a problem with turf toe and Fargas every year has a problem with his knees. You don't see guys get paralyzed every week so putting Gannon and Everett is just ridiculous in this. Next your going to bring up how Corey Stringer died in practice! Lets not get carried away on what I'm pointing out about injury.

Ha Ha I don't think you would hurt me man. Its kinda weird cause I don't get hurt in contact sports just things that aren't as physical cause I try to make them a bit more difficult. Sliding on our softball field is like sliding on concrete you not getting away without some road rash LOL. Not to mention I don't even know if you would be able to keep up with me LOL.

Ha Ha we always go back and forth in posts its not something different or anything. I'm just saying not to lose focus on what I was talking about with injury instead of saying that its part of the game cause I know that. Don't lose sight of the overall convo just so you can be right LOL.

UHH, YEAH THANKS, LOl....mmkay, maun bush really intrigues me..i want to see what he will provide...i was watching some highlights and maun he attacked a player for trying to run him over....but hey if fargas has 900 yards and mcfad has 700 plus i would not ocmplain...it should be exciting...this team better win about 7 games because i don't want to get this tatoo for nothing...i only have one already and i promised myself i would never get another one so this is a sacrifice.

you ain't lying maun kirk and thomas can cover for real...if hartwell can get it together i would like to see him in da middle and kirk going back to the outside...if not, then keep kirk in the middle.

my thing about kelly is that he isn't a sack guy the most he ever gotten is 4...which is why people laugh at us for that decision...not to mention our team statistically was better when he got hurt against the run, hahahahahahahahaha....i dunno, headscratcher for sure....i remember when my cuz (who is an eagles fan) found out kelly got all that loot, he was like "damn, are ya'll that desperate"...

maun that money could have went to a shaun rogers or something...i can't find a single guy to agree that kelly is worth all that because he isn't i guess...hell he still isn't all the way healed....i even heard that walker isn't fully healed as he should....i can see it now, kely comes back and reinjure himself and says he tried to come back too soon to begin with and oakland looks really bad in that decision, loll....oh well.

i have never really been a big walker fan and i hear he got outplayed by drew carter so far....that is why i don't worry about injuries maun, i mean why insult those who get injured all the time when the main guy keeps signing and resigning them?..they were injured before they got here...damn near everyone al signed was or has a history of injuries....so i will let you have at it with your comments...hell i can't control it and i expect it...they have those reputations and i didn't sign they [bleep].

you mentioned corey stringer, not me, i would never bring up dead players, but my point was injuries happen...apparently you missed my point and took to something else...but injuries happen, i will let you do the insulting for this....how about this, that bothers you more than it bothers me...everyone is overpaid in my opinion anyway, and i'll be damned if you see me bioch about a guy who already has a rep of being hurt and still gets resigned or simply signed...that ain't my place, a guy who gets hurt all the time i expect to get hurt....i am sorry to tell you but it makes sense maun...if walker got hurt in week 6 i won't get upset, he had that rep before he got here...it was al's stupid [bleep] who signed the guy for all that loot, i won't blame walker to taking the money i would have done the same thing...i will put my focus where it really should, to al, and that would be a toss up because hell, that player had a history of injuries...football is a violent spot, some get hurt and some don't...that is just the way it is...you have your opinion and i have mine, i will let you do the ragging on them, i will keep my peace about it....because it doesn't bother me the way it does you.

what are you talking about you are trying to be right...but i have seen you talk bad about players who got hurt in the past and that is my point...that bothers you more than it bothers me...most of my fav players always get hurt anyway...so i am used to it....they paychecks don't really bother me maun, hell in the next few years they will get paid even more and most will get hurt...look at that tight end that ran a 4.3 in the combine, uhh, vernon davis...

dude most kats wanted him on the team that season after his 40 time...but that guy gets hurt all the time and his teammates don't even like him because they say he brags too much....i never cared for the guy, but he gets hurt an awful lot...there is no telling who will get hurt for us this year, lol...it coudl be one of your boys...peace

Bush could be a great back, but he is unproven and we don't know if he would be better suited as a FB like Crockett was. I like his potential and knowing that if he is healthy he will be pretty good considering his size, we could be happy watching him and McFadden for years to come. I don't mention Fargas only because I don't think he'll stick around for another 5 years in the NFL. He seems like a guy that might cut his career short because he wants to be able to play with his kids and no be all banged up.

I think Kirk will stay in the middle. I don't see Ryan making a change with him because he has brought in someone else especially since Kirk has played pretty well there. I don't know much about Hartwell so I can't really say much about him. I know that he was good when healthy but has struggled the past few years with injury. We haven't had anyone worth much at Weak Side LB so I think Hartwell was brought in to play there.

Thats what I'm talking about though. I think he is going to have to put up big numbers for us inorder to not make us look like fools for thinking he had potential. I know that we already look like fools, but if he plays well it will be yet another thing they will say positive about Al. Thats one of the weird things. Al gets criticized for lots and lots of moves, but when they work out they talk about his football genius.

Yea I'm getting excited about what I hear about Carter. I think that he could be pretty good threat. Who knows if Walker can get bac to his old self. I know that if he can play like he did in GB than we are going to have a great WR.

I know you didn't sign them, but tell how many players that you know that get hurt year in and year out (and miss 3 or 4 consecutive games) and have never left their main team? Doesn't happen all that often.

Apparently it doesn't bother you at all. My whole point was that your saying that injuries are part of the game which they are and I won't dispute that. However, I don't like that we get these guys that are taking room on our roster and our cap and they are not helping us out. I want the Raiders to win football games, not have them have a great team on paper but can't seem to get all those players on the field at the same time, doesn't do any good. I'm not hating on the player cause I know that any one of us would do the same if we were making that money. Having a oft injured player is a bad investment. You don't buy stock in something when you hear the company is going bankrupt.

I don't care if a guy gets injured. Yea it sucks for our team because he isn't our contributing. I am in it for the team. I realized that most players don't have loyalties to anyone but themselves so why the hell should I be loyal to them? I have the guys that I like and I won't turn on them, but if your not helping the team win and your always hurt, I can except the fact that its time for the player to go. When Wood left I was upset cause one of my favorite players wasn't on my favorite team, but I knew it benefited the team by opening up more cap room for talent as well as giving the guy a fresh start.

Ha Ha. Like I said man, the Fargas sighing didn't bother me at all. I thought he deserved it. All I said was that most guys that have a history of injury usually have to find a new team because teams don't want to shell out the money for it. If Fargas gets hurt we have capable backups where as if one of our WRs get hurt I may be a bit upset due to the fact that its one of our weaker
