Derrick Nelson, 18, of Concord, and Union City resident Helen McKonnen, 20, were arraigned on the charges in a Martinez courtroom this afternoon, said Deputy District Attorney Harold Jewett.
They are scheduled to enter pleas on Jan. 10. Both are being jail in lieu of $1.25 million bail.
Police said Derrick Nelson's 20-year-old brother Sean entered a neighbor's home with a shotgun to steal electronics early Sunday. Police said Sean Nelson

strangled and bludgeoned him.
Derrick Nelson and McKonnen were in McKonnen's car with the stolen goods when Gonzalez was shot, police said. Jewett said murder charges are warranted under California's felony murder rule which calls for the highest charge when a death occurs in the commission of certain crimes, including robbery.
