Valley Christian of Dublin joins the Bay football league for the 2009 season. Still another Christian High School enters the football ranks.....It will be interesting to see how it will effect the local high schools as they draw from the whole area.   Christian High Schools are springing up in every direction and parents are taking a long look at entering their children into these schools...

Rod Woodson is one of the coaches at Valley Christian, and I believe they have at least one other former NFL player on the staff, but the name escapes me.

I thought schools were looking for ways to cut back on expenses!

Richmond to San Jose is over 50 miles one way!!!  Seems a little nuts to have schools in the same league so far apart...

Epethree........These are are small private schools that are open to the public.. and most are not strapped for money like the our local schools....I think these schools fall into the D5 catagory..So there population probably runs from 250 to 400 students......As time goes on and the student body increase's, they may get bold and schedule out side their  size and league.    they all work hard to raise money for all sports and school activities whch is an advantage with the Christian schools...BUT....its like DLS...it is expense to attend.....

John Parella is the head coach.  they also have a young guy that played at Univ Oaklahoma (forget his name) on staff as well.

There are other NFL'ers besides Parrella and Woodson- Josh Taves (Raiders) coach D-line. The former pro guys are the candy to some but Parrella has been bless with a very talented staff.  I've talked with coach Parrella many times while attending Pleasanton Junior Football games and it's very clear that Valley Christian Football is not all about "football." Building Christian men and teaching love and accountablility is his foremost priority. As he likes to say, "The football part is easy; getting young boys to grow up is the challenge." My 13 year old attended their first ever contact /non-contact football camp. There were about 60 kids for the contact and another 60 or so the the other. Every parent I spoke to walked away very impressed with the staff and the message.  Because of football, the high school is growing as well. Lastly, I asked the young Oklahoma coach, who only looks young he's actually 40-something, what is your vision for the program. He talked about Univ of Colorado back in the mid 80's. Under coach Bill McCartney, they set their sights on only one program- Nebraska. If they could build their program to where they could look Nebraska in the eye then naturally they could compete with the OU's, Miami's and Notre Dames of the day. Colorado won the national championship in 1990 beating OU, Nebr and Notre Dame that year.  You prepare to challenge the biggest bully in your neighborhood, not the kids getting beat up by the bully.

So I take it they are preparing for De La Salle, the biggest bully in Northern CA that is beating up on everyone else? Wink  Sounds like they have a nice staff, and their priorities in the right place. It will be interesting to see how they do on the field this season.

man I cant believe that guy is almost 40! damn he looks good.  he is a cool guy-he is often at the DLS games.  I believe he coached RB's at DLS for a year or two.

He never coached at DLS, but he was hoping to get on staff before he heard about VC. I found out... He'll be 43 next year.

The times has run information on the 2009  Christian football team, but no body has made a comment so far about who can make the team move or their prospects...VC plays a canadian team from Alberta tonight.....and next week a team from Gonzales, all home games....

They have several transfers since the spring of last year. A bruising running back from Oakland who played on last year's jv squad and twins from the Modesto area, I think. Then there's a talented kid from Granada who was a one-man-show on Granada's jv team last year. He was projected to be the qb for the next two years but now is starting DB/WR. This change is due to their most resent transfer over the summer- A D1 qb named Nick Rubio from Andrew Hill- San Jose. He lead his team to a 10-0 regular season last year. They say he's a great kid and his family wanted him to go to a christian school and get away from the gang violence in SJ. I saw him play Friday and he's the real deal. Strong, accurate arm with great running skills. Apparently he visited Valley-SJ, Valley-Dub and DLS and liked Valley-Dub better.

The commute from San Jose to Dublin is not quite as bad as the commute from San Jose to Concord. It may not all be about football or starting.

I didn't even notice the VC -SJ reference, but yes it would seem to be much closer. VC - Dublin is a small school in a nice area where the coaches are former professional football players. It seems like it would be a perfect fit for the right kid. Not to say VC - SJ and DLS aren't good schools, but VC - Dublin does have it's positives.

Anyone who spends more than a couple of hours around the program will know the draw to VCHS Football. THere message is strong, powerful and something you dont find very many place at any level. Staff is knowledgeable, and I truly beleive they are more interested in making better men out of the kids, in turn it will take care of the football. I dont have any children there and no I am not a coach of the school. Just lucky enough through my travels to have spent some time around the program . If you are looking to have a "father" figure (which I have seen in the majority of the coaches)  help direct your child down the right path in life while helping build strong moral character in your child.VC is it. Look for this team to do very well in a hurry.

Where a kid could start or at least legitimatly compete for the starting job is definately a consideration, especially for a senior. At VC you had a returning sophomore qb from the jv team and one transfer from Granada. So from that standpoint the position was wide open at VC.  At DLS you have 2 returning qb's and one sophomore that moved up from the freshman team (Bart Houston). Needless to say none of them can run the veer offense, in paticular the Houston kid. Don't expect to see much Veer unless a dual threat shows up on their campus in the coming years. Good for the Spartans they have a "lights out" defense, typically aggressive line and is loaded at running back. Based on skill, DLS would have loved to have a mature 6-2 qb with 4.58 speed (Rubio) running their offense for one season.

This is great stuff guys...for a school of almost 300, they started off with a big bang....There will most likely be a lot more transfers from the local area and this school could be a power house in the future if not now.

The enrollment is now at 450 or so and growing. Because of football, VC 8th graders who play in junior football leagues are no longer transfering out (PJFL, btw). I don't think it's a stretch to suggest that a school's souce of pride and identity tends to revolve around the football or basketball programs. Ok, I know some schools have  kick [bleep] debate and water polo teams but you can pretty much arrive late to either match and find parking with ease. Anyway, the new energy at VC is not only getting kids to stay but now kids are coming back. The school is now talking about building a new high school or switching the high school and elementary buildings, which is much larger. Yea, don't ask me why wouldn't the high school be the biggest building in the first place. Well on second thought, if you know the primary reason you're losing students to surrounding high schools is because your athletic programs are pathetic or non-existent why wouldn't... again, I digress. They say VC is changing and the new people in place want to be more than the little 27 year old christian school that no one has heard of.

The best reason to go to christian Schools is the education and the development as young adults...and I would imagine that the grade schools have a bigger population then the high school, but thats due to changing  conditions....I had no idea that the school was 27 years old, it was my impression that the school was one of the up and coming christian schools that are springing up all over....

Valley christain takes on Gonzales this coming Friday night and should be a easy victory as a home game....

Speed Trap - DLS offense with all three QB's playing did not perform well...the Head Coach actually said that (paraphrase) is was the worst O performance since he has been coaching there...This VCS guy couold have STARTED there for sure as he would be a better fit than who they have today...

No time to feel sorry for yourselves boys. Some knuckleheads from Florida are coming to town in 2 weeks. I do feel bad for DLS. I wanted them to shut up what had to be a bunch of loud-mouth Jersites. Anyway, any defeat to the Greeks (Spartans) is a plus for the Nords. The Vikings will face a tough and smarting Sacred Heart Prep this Friday afternoon. I don't know how the heck a ranked SHP lost to Riordan 7-28. They must have counted that game in the bag before they got on the bus. Huge upset. Riordan won less than 5 games last year, and only 6 regular season wins the year before. Back to the Greeks- Amador will have the first crack at them in EBAL. I'm worried about a bet I have with an Amador dad- That Valley Christian woud beat DLS before any EBAL team, especially Amador and Foothill, the Vikings closest neighbors. Come'on Godzilla! Rip through Tokyo like you always do.

Speed Trap, I sure hope you didn't wager too much on that bet. Valley Chrsitian is an up and coming football program, but I can't see DLS even considering scheduling them for at least another 5 years. And only then if VC is able to establish themselves as a powerhouse team. And isn't Dublin HS VC's closest neighbor?

001.......VC is up to 450 in population according to the latest information, so maybe VC will reach 1,000 in five years...and that doesn't mean that they would even consider scheduling DLS and  I'm with you, they may, or may not  be a power house...Who knows, maybe in five years, they will join the EBAL.....I don't see our crystal ball reading that far into the future....I know my crystal ball has been real fuzzy lately...

Dublin High is indeed the closest neighbor. But surely you aren't implying that VC should be looking towards playing Dublin High? Like that VC coach from Oklahoma said t me once, "You build a program to challenge the biggest bully on the block, not the kids getting beat up by the bully." In my opinion, Dublin High Football is something you step over on your way to a fight. I'm a non-partisan guy (ok, maybe a little bit of a Ladoucer fan) but based on being fairly close to both DLS and VC programs, the Vikings are very similar. They may not be ready for DLS but as a football program, they are moving at a rapid pace. Remember, Coach Lad's program won it's first NCS title in only 3 years. As the saying goes, "Build it and they will come". I also know from speaking with Parrella at PJFL games that 2 yeas before starting football he did bench-mark studies with programs like southern powers Orange Lutheran and Oaks Christians as well as schools in Louisiana. Each coach laid out their mistakes and successes and this has helped VC's program grow much faster than normal. By the way, you don't need a several thousand enrollment high school in order to have a great football program- DLS: 900 boys, Orange Lutheran: approx 600 boys, Oaks Christian: approx 700, St Bonaventure: 606, JT Curtis Christian (Louisiana): 800 total. All National and or State Powers.

Hmmm... You'd think a team that rushes for 420 yards would win. You'd think. Wait... not when you give up 470 or so on the ground yourselves. Interior defensive mishaps proved the Vikings undoing big time. Man, that game was hard to watch defensively. SH ran through the middle of the Vikings defense as If they'd RSVP the quickest route to the enzone. The Vikings missed several opportunities and could have lost maybe 43-37 but they could not plug the gaping holes in the middle. To their credit, SH never sustained a drive to score, but instead scored on big runs. So in a perfect world had the defense played even decently, maybe the Vikings win going away. A golden opportunity lost . They play McClymonds next Friday night at Chabot College. I am sure the staff will get defensive issues squared away. I wonder if Parrella and his staff are at the school now reviewing the game. Wouldn't be surprised. Oh yeah, Dublin got whacked by Livermore 50something to whatever. Livermore? I'd be transfering my son out of Dublin by Monday. Livermore? Geezzee... Go Get'em Cowboys?

I will say that what Coach Parrella says to the parents does sound very good and exciting. However I am starting to get a little concerned that the coaching staff may be putting their own ambitions ahead of the players. What would cause me to say that?

1. During the game with Sacred Heart, while our beloved Vikings were getting runned over by the other team’s superior rushing attack, the coaches kept the starters in even though they were gassed out. The very intense play combined with the heat was really wearing down the boys. In no game have I ever witnessed the boys being pushed so hard to the point of utter exhaustion. Just watch the replay of the second half and you can see this for yourself. It was clearly not our day that day and there was no way our exhausted boys could battle back and defeat Sacred Heart’s deeper and fresher bench. The starters were clearly getting slower and weaker as the game progressed.  Why didn’t the coaching staff rotate the players more and give the starters a little break and a chance to catch their breath and refocus mentally. Many of our best players played offense, defense, and special teams and therefore could not get a breather.

I realize the coaching staff comes from the NFL and Div 1 football programs, but these are young high school kids who should not be pressed as hard as grown men at the top of their physical strength.

Giving the starters a little break would not have made things worse but could in fact have enabled our starters to get a second wind and maybe put some more points on the board. There is no need to run our best players into the ground. I am disappointed to see this happen from a coaching staff that professes to put kids first.

2. I am also disturbed by how much the staff is playing injured players. This has happened repeatedly since last year. You can even hear some of the coaches yelling for the kids to “suck it up!” when they have just gotten hurt. A recent example: In the game against Harker, our starting quarter back was injured but despite his injury he was put back into the game - even though we had a good back up quarterback. We were clearly over powering Harker, and with a competent back up quarterback there was no need to put the starting quarterback in the game and risk making his injury worse. I am not saying that all players with minor injuries should be taken out, but when we are comfortably ahead and controling the game, the injured players shouldn't be put back in and risk worsening their injury.

A player might think that they can get away with putting a lot of stress on an injury, but as many former NFL players can tell you, the injuries can easily add up and end up becoming physically debilitating in the long run.

Surely the coaches know this. I know that it is standard practice in the NFL for injured players to suck it up and play despite their injuries - but this is not the NFL and the boys should not be pushed like professional players getting paid millions of dollars a year.

3. The coaches all come from winning backgrounds and want to win. I do too. But I think they are too ambitious. I just heard that next year the Vikings will leave their current league and move up to a much tougher league.

I was very surprised to hear this. So far we have only proven that we can beat weak teams, so why would the coaches want us to move up so quickly to play much tougher teams? Since we are a first year program, shouldn’t we just play a few seasons first in our current league and build a winning track record and prove ourselves first?  Why are we in such a hurry? Sorry coaching staff, but the 2 losses this year has shown you guys still haven't proven yet that you can lead the team to victory over strong teams. All our victories have been against weak teams.

I know Coach Parrella played for many years for the notorious Al Davis whose motto was “Just Win Baby” - I sincerely hope that some of Al Davis’ bad practices have not influenced our head coach.

It's funny how people who don't know tend to speak the loudest. And boy is that a lot of loud speaking! You know, I sort of don't blame her (it has to be a "her"), as this is VC's second year as a football program and first year as a varsity team. This parent clearly has never had a son who played football or know what it takes to play this sport. Like Coach Jim Mora once said, "You don't know, you don't know that you don't know, and you never will" If you ever have a chance to watch a VC game, the lack of basic football knowledge demonstrated by the VC parents and student-body is comical. I mean a lot of them don't even know WHEN to cheer. It may also be worth noting that before football arrived at VC the athletic program as a whole were at an intermural level at best. So it wouldn't be a stretch to suggest that the VC Family doesn't know what "athletics" is to begin with. I'm getting side-tracked. So, I attended both games in question and the Sacred Heart game was indeed hot. But it was hot for both teams. If you knew much about football (yes, I am attacking you now) you would have noticed that the varsity team only have 30 or so players. So maybe they rotated as much as they could without putting in a kid who had no business being on the field. Maybe your son sat the bench the entire game? If so, you should consider that maybe your son is not very good and would do more damage if he were sent in. "Suck it up" can a multitude of things. Maybe the player in question needs to learn to "fight thru" some discomfort and push himself beyond what he think is possible.  As it turned out, that player kept playing, played well and probably learned a lot about himself that night. Now about this "injured" quarterback- Since you don't know, I will tell you. How do I know? I asked the quarterback's dad or uncle. He was NOT injured, he was HURT. The doctors (DOCTORS) examined him and determined that his knee was solid and that IF HE WANTED TO, HE COULD GO BACK IN after icing the knee a bit. Well the problem was that this kid had never had a scare like that and it freaked him out. He saw his football life flash before him and he was AFRAID. Now here is were his coaches helped him. They made him see that the fear was in his head. They told him about their own experiences with "that moment" and that he, like them, had to overcome the fear. Well guess what? The quarterback jogged a bit, made a few cuts told the coaches he wanted back in. And low and behold, he not only finished the game but ran like he always does and thru a TD to boot.  Thank God the football progam has great doctors and a knowledgable coaching staff that loves him and is helping him  become a young MAN.

Speed Trap … your machismo sure impresses me… Not! LOL.

Just because I am a Mom does not mean that I don’t understand football. I may not be a macho football fan like you but I do enjoy watching football. Thanks for telling the parents and VCHS student body that you think most of them are comical dim wits when it comes to football. I am sure that makes them feel real good to be insulted like that. Your football expertise is impressive. Also interesting is how you put down the entire VC family that they “doesn't know what "athletics" is to begin with.” Your knowledge of the ineptness of the entire VC family is amazing. Have you shared your insight with the VCHS principal?

By the way I don’t have a son who plays football. Why would you assume that I have a son who is a lousy player? Could it be because your son is no good and is a bench warmer... or is it because you were a bench warmer yourself. LOL…FYI my son is a starter in a different sport.  And uh thanks for putting down the kids who are bench warmers, I am sure their parents would love to know what you have to say about their sons.

Its amusing how easy it is to get your feathers ruffled.  I have no interest in attacking the coaching staff. All I was doing was expressing concerns that some of the mothers have about what is going on.  FYI they are afraid to voice their concerns to the coaching staff because they are afraid that it might hurt their kid’s playing time. No parent wants to risk their kid getting their playing time cut. Since some people are afraid to speak up and they keep their mouth shut, I thought I should speak up on their behalf. If you ever find out who I am, I have no fear of getting my son cut from the team.

Your explanation of what happened with the starting quarterback was helpful, while also affirming the fears that a few of the parents have about what is going on. FYI, I have not “attacked” the coaching staff … if I wanted to not only would I not speak so respectfully but there are other areas that I could bring up that I choose not to (at least for the moment).

I actually do want to apologize if my comments offended you because that was not my intent.

"good coaches are no longer coaching in high school"

What an amazing statement.... I always thought that the coaches at DLS, Monte Vista, Oaks Christian, Don Bosco etc were first class coaches. Now I know better. I didn't realize they were not good coaches. Thanks for enlightening me.

My eldest son attended VC and transfered to De La Salle for track and football. Because I attended DLS practices and games, I can say with great authority that the boys at VC aren't pushed remotely as hard as  the kids in the programs you mentioned. Those are elite programs maam, with dare I say "hardend" football players. You mentioned that you've seen other teams play in the past. Well I doubt you paid much attention. The higher intensity displayed in an EBAL game (DLS, Monte Vista..) is easily discernable. Outside of the transfer kids, who have played football since they were 12 years old or younger and a few naturallty tough kids already there, the rest of the varsity kids have little football experience. So you can't push them as hard as you would a typical football team; but you have to keep pushing them forward. Btw, VC's defensive coordinator coached at Monte Vista and the runningbacks coach was a De La Salle guy so maybe, just maybe the staff is "pushing" the boys to play like good high school teams and not NFL teams. Now about this moving to a bigger league. The DFAL is not so huge a jump for one. Secondly, the move puts VC on the map in terms of getting the attention of kids and parents who live close enough to consider transferring. And as we are now seeing, former VC kids are transferring BACK TO VALLEY CHRISTIAN.  Until football arrived, when you spoke of "Valley Christian" even people living inside of 10 miles thought of San Jose. Why? Because VC played in recreation leagues and got no attention from the papers.  Now that will change and all of the programs will benifit. Enrollment will increase rapidly= more kids hearing the Word of Christ. The school has new admin that gets it now. They want a great athletics to match Christian values and academics.

Do you know that one of the best girls soccer coaches in Northern Cali teaches at VC? Note, I didn't say "coaches at VC", i said TEACHES. Why on earth wouldn't he also coach soccer? Because VC plays soccer during the WRONG TIME OF THE YEAR! Recreation athletics at it's finest sister. This guy coaches a top soccer club and if you know anything about soccer, you know that CLUB SOCCER is where the best players show their talents to colleges. So lets say you have three VC 8th graders who shows great potential. They are not going to play at VC because the season conflicts with club. They will transfer to Foothill or San Ramon where they will be playing with teammates who also play club. Translation: VC high school enrollment drops-$$$, team is void of talent, and no coach worth his shoe laces will coach there. Imagine what could happen to the soccer program with this coach. Parents would send their kids to play for him at VC too! Like Foothill, VC's girls soccer team could be made up of 90% club players! Can you say, "State Power Valley Christian Girls Soccer?" He could also bring in a boys soccer coach with PASSION and VISION. Thank God the new Admin gets it. So once they move soccer where it belongs they won't have to search for a great coach. He's right down the hall waiting for the call. Don't even get me started on track & field and softball. My fingers hurt already.

Speedtrap, I agree with everything you posted.

I know that the most of the VC kids are not hardened football players the way the players are at the elite programs.  It is precisely because of this that I expresed my concerns in my first post.

What my man is saying is that the majority of parents at those schools "GET IT." But it's not your fault; you don't know what you're talking about. That fact just isn't a hinderance to you talking.

He's probably experienced parents/administrators like you running off a good coach, thats all. It happens all the time. Coach leaves and build a nice progam elsewhere and the community at large is happy. Meanwhile, the other program continues to be a running joke.

LOL... you are so quick to judge that I don't know what I am talking about. You are so funny Speedtrap. And since I find your level of intelligence so amusing I actually don't take offense to all your put downs.

What's also funny is how incredibly defensive you are about the coaching staff. They are not weak little wimps who will run away because of my comments. I think I have far more confidence in their strength to stand their ground and fight for their convictions than you do. I am not trying to run off any of the coaches. Let me repeat that so that hopefully your little brain can get the message: I am not trying to run off any of the coaches. I was just trying to voice some of my concerns.

When someone voices a concern, the proper thing to do is to simply address them and show that person that their concerns are unfounded and that they do not have to worry about it. Attacking and putting them down only reinforces the concern and blows up the issue unnecessarily.  The Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler, and Saddam Hussein method of dealing with people's concerns by attacking and putting them down does not work well in America.

SpeedTrap, Coach Parella is teaching the kids about the "Art of War" by Sun Tzu. You might benefit yourself from studying that book.

Read it, studied it, and applied it. It provides great insight regarding proper view and mindset towards an opponent, among other things. My son had it read to him and the team at De La Salle. You know, clearly you're someone who has been involved with Valley Christian Athletics for some time and that means you pre-date the new administration. You call yourself "Go Vikings" but  I suspect you're a wolf in sheep's clothing and deep down you hate that FOOTBALL has given the school an identity, has the entire Tri-Valley abuzz and changed the direction of athletics and the schools. Translation: exposed mediocrity within the Athletic Department, School Admin and Booster Program. You've probably lost some friends along the way too. Maybe you too have been marginalized and is now like that “Roaring Lion looking to devour someone.”  Well God sure seems to keep blessing that school so Mr. Parrella and his staff must be honoring HIM still.  Let’s recap some of God’s blessings: 1) Pastor Noah pulls the trigger to start football. 2) Mr. Parrella, a retire NFL player, who happens to LOVE CHRIST becomes Coach Parrella is commissioned to build it. 3) Pastor Noah leaves and Pastor Valci enters… Well Jiminy Crickets! Pastor Valci is fired up too! 4) John Moran is the school’s first Superintendant and now a new Principle; both want quality athletics. 5) People who have held the school back for the last 20-something years have been removed, either by reorganization or dismissal. Oh, there’s still opposition lurking within the walls of the Church and school. Treachery and Conspiring behind smiles and well-wishes. Their day has come to an end. God’s not done.  But I am done debating with you. Take care.

Bah De, Bah De, Bah De… That’s all folks!

I’m gonna go sit in the corner and play with my crayons.

 The Battle at Burrell Field-

[Selesian King] What news from the south?

[Messenger] My Lord, St. Elizabeth has been sacked! The Pridens defended but eventually gave way to a relentless Viking attack. First Harker, and now St. Liz, my Lord. They both underestimated the Vikings capabilities... It was not two quarters time before their land was overrun!

[King] Why if they can sack St. Liz, then they can attack Berean from the south... Leaving Salesian itself vulnerable!

[Messenger] An outpost in San Ramon has spotted Viking ships headed north... towards Berean. I have sent transcripts, my Lord.

Having conqured the Pridens, the Nords now set their sights on the land of Berean. Nestled in the Walnut Creek region and south of Sparta, the Bereanites were defeated and it's land annexed by the Salesian Empire long ago. Berean is now the forth country under Salesian rule. Harker, St. Elizabeth and CSD have been Selesian territories for centuries now. But civil unrest and rebellion has been the norm while Salesian has maintained overall dominance.

The Vikings came ashore to invade the Berean land and got wiped out by the lethal Berean arrows.  It seems that many of the Viking warriors never woke up from their journey north to the Berean kingdom. With ease the Bereans struck the sleepy Vikings down repeatedly.  Things got so bad the Viking's star quarterback even had to play on defense.

What an ugly loss.  Too bad.  How disappointing that the real Vikings did not show up to play today. Too many key players were sleep walking through the game.

I do give credit to the Berean Passing Game. Their hard work and practice paid off big time today.

On to the next battle. Wake up Vikings! The Salesians are eagerly awaiting your arrival!

Sun Tzu teaches us to not attack our opponents without knowing who they are. Blindly attacking someone without knowing anything about them is folly.

One of the reasons America is the greatest country in the world is because of the freedom we have to voice our opinions. I love this country!!!!

OK, lets just get back to talking about football since the season is almost half over by now.

Since St Elizabeth unfortunately lost their best offensive player who had to transfer to Oakland High this year due to unfortunate financial circumstances, the challenge to the Vikings will not be as great. Too bad. I was hoping to see how our team would perform against such a talented player.

I am very curious to see how our OL & DL will stack up against theirs.

Go Vikings!

Port of Treat Blvd, along The Straits of Walnut Creek, 2009 AD.

The sound of music and celebration fills the air...

[Viking Captain] Men, tomorrow we dine along the shores of Berean. But tonight, we celebrate! [Lieutenant] Sir, this is not wise. Me must proceeed to Berean as ordered. King Parrella will certainly...  [Captain] Mind our tongue! Tomorrow we sail onward, sober and ready for battle. The Bereanites won't even know what hit....

Cries of horror and dispair interrupts the celebration... " Arm yourselves we are under attack!"

[Lieutenant] Captain, our ships are destroyed and we are trapped. We must retreat into the valley! Your foolishness has doomed us all!

Having recieved transcripts from Salesian, Berean war ships and soldiers were lying in wait and siezed the moment for a preemptive strike. Overconfident and weary from the night of debauchery, the Vikings proved no match for the coordinated Berean attack. It is said that King Parrella has sent many of the surviving soldiers into exile, according to viking law. But now the Viking Empire is vulnerable to complete inihilation...

[Salesian King] Send our fastest ships onward to Dublin; return the others home. We end this now....

The horn has been blown.

Viking Reserves to the battlements!  The Salesian hordes are only 2 days journey away!

The brave Viking reservists rush to defend their kingdom, knowing that they are outnumbered and outgunned.  Feverishly they toil to ramp up their fighting skills.

The odds are heavily against them, but they maintain a brave face as they await the mighty Salesian onslaught.  It is at times like this that the true Viking Warrior spirit shines through.

Onward to victory! Beat back the Salesians!

Ok, so you lack creativity. Fine. But since I don't like you, Baby Huey, I won't play with you.

[Back to the corner with his crayons...]

Hmm... maybe I'll try the 70's... yea right; then watch her post be filled with terms like "Jive Turkey" and "Sucka".

Go ahead Speed Trap... try the 70's.  I'm no good with the 70's. You can "Jive" and "Sucka" all you want. I'm sure you're good at that.
