An observation, “Water does not come from the faucet and Power does not originate in the wall plug.” The population of California has increased tremendously in the past few decades and yet we have built no new reservoirs refineries or power plants. We expect our infrastructure to support any level of population and we are surprised when we run short of water. Drive down Highway I-5 or 101 and observe miles and miles of new vineyards and orchards and think about where the water comes from to water all these crops. Drive out the desert in Southern California and count all the golf courses. Read about the declining fish population in our delta and consider how many small fish are ground up in the pumping process of moving water south, and then justify why we have to let our lawns and our gardens die! This is not progress.

Good observation my friend. We have to make some tough choices regarding water resources. Most water is used by California agriculture and some of those products are not appropriate for California’s Mediterranean type of climate. What to do about an exploding population? Don’t know. Maybe curtail housing development in the State. I recall during the mid seventies when the family and I were rationed to 150 gallons of water per day. It sound like a lot, but one would be surprised how fast you can go through that amount of water. Ultimately, I think global warming is for real, and it will force us to make those tough choices.

YOU ARE SO OUT OF STEP WITH REALITY THAT YOU ARE JUST BEGGING TO BE CORRECTED. some of those products are not appropriate for California’s Mediterranean type of climate. Who are you to determine what crops are “not appropriate”? Who paid for the development of the Water Resources that you assume you own? I will give you a big hint, agriculture paid for the development of those resources and they, in fact, own them. Water is a private property right that you are, in effect, trying to steal. What to do about an exploding population? Don’t know. Maybe curtail housing development in the State. are you serious? Housing does not limit population, restrictions on breeding and restrictions on immigration do. How about a one child policy like China’s? That would be a more appropriate response from a socialist like you, but maybe that hits to close to home—do you have more then one child, and if you do which are you sacrificing? Or is that too much of contribution from you for this “problem”? Ultimately, I think global warming is for real, and it will force us to make those tough choices. Global Warming is an unproven theory, not a fact.(if you doubt me, prove it!) Idiots who believe in Global Warming are a part of Fat Boy Gore’s cult. Gore could care less about the environment, as his actions prove, he simply wants the power he could not win in an election, and there are morons who trust him, have never read and could not understand a study on climate change, magnetic flux, or heck even rabbit breeding if they tried, and do not understand the difference between a probability and a fact. Are you aware that global warming is predicted based on extroplation of 200 data points to a trend of 60,000? The accuracy of those 200 points is questionable, and the error margin is greater then the probability of being correct. Did not see that little detail in Gore’s epic drama; well guess what, his movie was a tissue of finely woven lies. It was a propaganda piece targeting the poorly educated masses who were too lazy to read the studies. Are you part of that poorly educated mass?
By the way, is the entire planet actually warming, is is a half getting colder while the other half warms. Current data points to a magnetic shift in poles which is causing tempetures to vary by less then a tenth of a percent a year. Another detail you messiah left out of his movie as well?
So check with reality before you offer a solution again, to do otherwise make you look like a fool.

This is the first April that I can remember using our heater. Global warming, I think not. We are gluttons when it comes to using our resourses. Although I feel we should be responsible with the wild life... if I had to vote between the farmers getting enough water for crops, to feed my family , I will have to say bye, bye smelt. I also agree that we are over populating our state, and earth. Two children max is my vote. No children if you aren't married or can't provide, i.e on welfare... I enjoy golf, but do think there are far too many golf courses, alot of them use reclaimed water but still....light green would be better than dark green, less mowing needed, less gas used etc.... Yes I know I'm rambling, home with the flu, its the fever...

We're also in the second year of a drought. I been watching the trees dying along a road I take every now an then. If all the evidence you have to refute global warming, is using your space heater during April; I don't think it's going to hold up in environmental court. The data is there. Most notable scientist agree that there is a problem. Just about all the Countries of the world showed up at the Kyoto protocol to discuss climate change. Why would they go to all that trouble. These are intelligent people. Even "Bring Them On" Bush is talking about controlling greenhouse emissions. They all pretty much agree there is a problem, just differ on what to do about it, and when to do it. The nay Sayers can ignore the data at the peril of grandchildren, but since we are also sending them a bankrupt social security system, a mountain of debt, and a blighted environmental landscape, I think folks like clayton will just say...... damn the kids.

The other 50% has a much different view which Al Gore and the Global control group failed to publish. The weather is cyclical over the centuries view, non alarmist, is the other side of the coin. Al Gore went into hiding over the Winter when we had one of the coldest and wettest seasons both on the East Coast and here in the CA mountains. Did you sleep thru the massive storms we had up in the Sierras?? Our Auqifers were replentished, and we reached our yearly level of water in just a few short months.............with record level snowfall levels.
....what do the kids have to do with global warming??? "Even" bring them on Bush" is talking about greenhouse emissions. You clearly exposed your agenda....

Global warming is an unprovable, and currently the least likely theory of future climatic change. A small but extremely voca group of scientists and a much larger group of psuedo-scientists promote global warming to acheive control and power; not because they really believe that global warming is real. Belief in unproveable theories is religion. What you are leaving your desendents is a religious totalitarian regime based on non-sense science. You are no better then the Germans in Nazi Germany who "accepted" the false science that justified hatred of Jews. Even more to the point you are promoting, in the US, the same religious totalitarian society of Iran that sponsers terrorism world wide.
We should not be surprised when you support the terrorists, or if we were to learn that you joined MediaWhite/War hater is celebrating the events of 9-11 as justice.

We're also in the second year of a drought. We are in California and droughts are part of the normal weather cycle. Droughts have no bearing on tempeture, so even in a drought our tempeture has been cooling not warming. You may not actually be a native California, (anyone can blog on this website) but you should not comment on areas you know little or nothing about. Clearly science, specifically global warming is something you know nothing about.

Those are churches, not courts since your believe in Global Warming is just that a believe. Your believes can no more be proven then it can be proven that Christ was reborn or that Mary Magdalene raised the offspring of Jesus in France. Believe is powerful but not real. As for proof, it is not I proposing a new theory, so it is not I who is responsible for proving or disproving it. If you are suggesting that Global Warming is real, then you prove it. The facts are that you can not prove, with 100% certainty that global warming is real.

I can remember in the 70's we had a major drought in California, lakes like Folsom were mud puddles. Look at the number of people in California then compared to the current numbers now.
How happen to the Auburn Dam? Has there been more been storage been built to keep with current grow?
There is less rice growing now then in 70"s. rice needs certain amount of water to grow.
Has far Al Gore goes.

The weather and historical weather patterns are in GOD's hands and always will be. Of course we should take care of our environment, not pollute, and reforest bare land but the GLOBAL Warming hoax takes it way to far......
Population explosion is a much bigger problem, and controllable by individual nations through policies and immigration enforcement. Otherwise nature will take its course and famine will reduce the population.

Water conservation technology from the drought in the 1970's is old technology. Shower heads, for instance, today are mandated by the State of CA to flow 2.5 gallons per minute. New heads, with highly comfortable flow patterns, are available that flow 1.6 gpm, or even 1.25 gpm. A person showering 10 minutes a day will save over 3000 gallons a water/year. to invest in this lunacy voluntarily, that is fine. I think investing in cosmetic surgery is crazy too, but I would not stop anyone from pursueing it if makes them happy and they can afford it. But you violate my rights and the rights of every Sane person when you try and legistlate these lifestyle choices on us--and in the end that is your goal isn't it.
