WHO BENEFITS FROM PITTSBURG'S MARKETING & PROMOTIONS

Promotion and Marketing $212.000 Tax Payer Money

Old Town Marketing (recreation) $150,000 Tax Payer Money

Old Town Marketing (Chamber Services) 69,100 Tax Payer Money

Old Town Real State Marketing $60,000 Tax Payer Money (Will be awarded to Strategic Real State Services today, no bidding.  Where is this money spend? Concord?)

$491,100.00 (Almost Half Million Dollars)  No bidding by any local businesses.  City of Pittsburg will give $60,000 to Strategic Real State Services.  Why?  In return for what?

Graphic Lee Yours, from Antioch CA, mother In Law of Caryn Wegerbauer, City of Pittsburg Commissioner, owner of  Strategic Real State Services now doing Chamber and City work? Wasn't this done by Belleci Designs and pittsburgca.net?

This is precisely why many local businesses don't belong to the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce.  Why is our tax money going to Antioch, Concord, Hayward, etc. vs. Pittsburg business community and its residents?

Many of us work hard to bring money from outside Pittsburg into Pittsburg for betterment of our community.  My Aunt owner of Humphrey's on the Delta, left the Pittsburg Chamber after years of supporting it, and never getting a return on their investment.

I have never seeing Biding Opportunities for Marketing and Promotions.  There are many local businesses that can bid on these jobs.

AGAIN, IS THERE AN ANALYSIS BASED IN CURRENT ECONOMIC CONDITION ON HOW THIS MONEY IS GOING TO BE BEST SPENT?

city working off of a Marketing & Promotion analysis, broken down by tactical implementation?

MY LETTER TO NANCY PARENT, PITTSBURG MAYOR

Madam Mayor,

I just wanted to further explain myself, as I believe you didn't listen to the point I was trying to make.

My point was/is that there is all of this money for marketing and promotions almost half million dollars projected for 2009-2010.

My questions stands.

Is there any oversight to that money spent?

Is there an analysis based in current data that supports that spending?

Is there a Marketing & Promotion Strategy in place?

I have not seeing a marketing and promotion strategy, with specific steps to accomplish our City of Pittsburg's Marketing and Promotional spending.

Yes, as a Marketing and Advertising Strategist I agree we must spend money to make money. But there needs to be a reasoning behind it.

I can't see Tax Payers spending half a million dollars in something we have no clue how is working, or if it is working at all.

How much does Paul F. gets paid? Where does that money come from? I just heard (here say) that he gets over $62,000.  I mean that is not right...

Creating positions to push money around is not right, it's not right for all of our communities who depend on you to make correct decisions.

Sorry this might upset you, but I am not there to make friends.  I am there to speak up for what I see to be a problem and offer a solution, based on my experience.

By the way.  Great job in seeking roughly $11 million in damages from parties involved in developing Vidrio, our unfinished city's three-block centerpiece downtown project.  That makes me and my constituents feel represented.

Remember we re all in this TOGETHER.

Sincerely yours,

Danny : )

Yesterday I received 3 cards printed and mailed by Concord Printer/Mailer inviting me 3 times to the Wednesday, June 24th Pittsburg/Bay Point BART Station Area.  No one bother to de-deupe the list mailing who know how many duplicates, no barcode which should have saved about 5 1/2 cents per piece. Not to mention the printing cost for duplicates. Concord printer mailed out of Oakland WHY NOT PITTSBURG, why should we Pittsburg Citizens take our hard working money to Oakland? A waste of money in postage and printing and mail entry for us tax payers.  I have been in the industry for over 35 years, I and many others here in Pittsburg know/understand the process.
