Richmond its time for us to take back our city. There is a lot of good hard working families in Richmond. Lots of good activities for the kids. Im born and raised in Richmond. Stege Elementry, Adams Middle School, and JFK (for one year). Played Richmond Steelers under the late Coach Fred Harris, Baseball for Prime Time, and basketball for Richmond P.A.L at Eastshore. Its time we get these no good bums off our streets. It all starts in the home. And together we are stronger than we are apart.
Its a step in the right direction. Hopefully we can build on this.
It's really sad to see that were losing are children I grew up in the City Of Richmond and it all begin the senseless killings in 1991. It use to be a time when North Richmond, Central, and the South Side was 1 big family until the durgs started taking over are neighborhoods, streets corners and homes then it began a turf war of who is making the most money on the blocks and representing hoods. Let me explain myself a little more why they dont understand these street corners they fighting and killing for does not belong to anyone of them they dont own the land the ground or the corners they killing behind when its all said and done them corners gonna be their even after their deaths it use to be in the older generations that the children bury their parents and grandparents now its parents and grandparents burying their children this really need to come to an end. You know it is amamzing how people stay "it starts at home" I dont agree with that because when a child has his or her mind set to do somethiong they will doing with or without parents knowledge or blessings. A parent can talk until they are blue in the face these kids minds are already made up. Me personally I blame it on the justice system because these kids are not punished harsh enough the first time the commit a crime-minor or major, and then the system say do not spank the kids-yeah right when i was a kid growing up in Easterhill when you did something wrong you got your tore up.
They say the kid was spoiled and lived with both parents that dont mean a damn thing so was I. It is a lot of kids living just like he is/was/or used to-not sure at this time. But I dont blame the parents for nothing these late 70's,80's & 90's kids are doing.
The kids that really need help are the ones that get throwed in the system because the parent or parents get high or the ones that are born because the female just wanted to have a baby by anybody and dont know who the father is. Those are the ones to be careful of because they learned how to survive on their own before they even learn how to walk & talk good.
MY ADVICE IS IF YOU HAVE KIDS BETWEEN 8 AND 18 MALE OR FEMALE GET AN UNDERSTANDING AS TO WHAT THE KIDS ARE DEALING WITH WHILE WE ARE WORK OR WHEREVER. PARENTS GET IN THE BUSINESS ESPECIALLY THE ONES WHO SAY "OH NOT MY KIDS" BECAUSE THOSE ARE THE ONES - YOU JUST WILL NEVER KNOW!!!
Seezins you are right on the money boss. Im just saying at least we have to give our kids a good positive foundation. And show them the right way rather than just talking about it. I can't tell my son don't smoke weed if he sees me blowing trees. You feel me. But again you are 100% correct. If a kid wants to do something, be it sex, drugs, robbery, etc. They are going to do it no matter what. They could be from Blackhawk or from Kennedy Manor. And like you said sometimes "it all starts in the home" has no merrit at all. Because I know some preachers daughters when I was growing up was some of the freakest girls in the hood.
